Husbands and wives vow to love each other “in sickness and in health,” but sometimes that promise is tested much sooner than expected. While engaged to his future wife, this man was critically injured in a motorcycle accident that put him in a wheelchair. The injury altered their relationship in a big way, but his fiancée was just as in love with him as she’d always been and still wanted to get married.  When it came time for their first dance as husband and wife, no one was expecting the groom to be on his feet. Little did they know, he’d been planning a surprise that would ensure there wasn’t a dry eye in the reception hall when they finished their dance. This moment is a beautiful illustration of the many ways couples support each other. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/wedding-dance-wheelchair-emotional-surprise/

How Changing Our Perception Can Create A Better World

Beau Lotto, a neuroscientist and founder of Lottolab, wants you to know that nothing exists. That is, instead of the images in the world having any inherent meaning, we decide what we see. As optical illusions have taught us, two people can look at the exact same piece and see two completely different things. Beau and his team at Lottolab are out to do more than trick our eyes with clever pictures, though.  Lotto sees perception as something that can be used to create a more empathetic and understanding world.
