Clever A Capella Song Pokes Fun At Millennials

It’s often said that kids these days don’t know the value of a hard day’s worth of work. We’ve all seen it at one point or another – millennials who have high hopes of the future but remain glued to their phones instead of pursuing what they really want in life. Yes, things may be drastically different now than when we were that age, but we all have to work hard for success, and we’ve done so without the help of the internet and smartphones. Micah Tyler has never been shy about expressing his feelings and observations through music. For those who have never heard of him, Micah constantly performs across the United States and plays “between 150 to 200 dates a year for churches, concert venues, camps, retreats, coffee shops, and pretty much any other stage or platform you can imagine.” His vocal talents have even earned him the honor of being named the National Male Vocalist of the Year by the Gospel Music Association at the Immerse Conference. An accomplished singer and songwriter, Micah Tyler wrote and performed the hilarious song you see below about everyone’s favorite generation: millennials. Though he has some criticism for the youth who are still busy “trying to find themselves,” this catchy and hilarious tune is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. Don’t forget to SHARE this amazing song with your friends and family. H/T: Watermark Church Read more: http://www.wimp.com/clever-a-capella-song-pokes-fun-at-millennials/

Toddler’s Light Up Shoes Spark Fire Inside SUV

What do you do when your kids beg you for the latest shoes? If you’re like most of us, you probably find a good deal on them so both of you are happy. This is clearly the case in most households across America with the light-up shoe craze. Many children have at least one pair they enjoy jumping in while creating a personalized light show. After hearing this couple’s harrowing story about these novelty shoes, however, you may rethink that sneaker purchase. In the town of Katy, Texas the Virag family had bought a pair of Jake and the Neverland Pirates light-up shoes for their 2-year-old son. One afternoon they noticed the windows of their SUV beginning to blacken. When the door was opened they noticed the strong smell of burned plastic. The couple was stunned to see a hole through the floor of the car, and the passenger seat melted. After putting out the fire, they sifted through the debris to find one of their son’s shoes as the likely culprit. The father, Jovan, found one shoe burned nearly in half. He dissected the other to find what may be the root of the issue. It turns out that the lights in the shoes run on lithium batteries. These are the same batteries that caused trouble in the recently popular “hoverboards.” If these batteries get too hot, or are damaged, they cause an internal short which can result in the battery bursting into flame. This appears to have been the cause of the fire in the Virag’s vehicle, however, the case is still being investigated by the Fire Marshall. Payless, where the shoes were purchased, has pulled the shoes in question from their shelves. What is clear is that you should research these latest trends, and perhaps avoid them altogether. Please make sure to SHARE this vital story with your friends and family. H/T: WPS News Read more: http://www.wimp.com/toddlers-light-up-shoes-spark-fire-inside-suv/

Selfless EMT Mows Stranger’s Lawn

Asking for help is hard as it requires us to admit that we can’t do something on our own. Whether it’s learning a complicated idea or moving out of our apartment, there are some things in life that we simply can’t tackle by ourselves. We wish we were strong enough and smart enough to power through every dilemma the world throws our way, but that’ll never be the case.  Recently, EMTs helped an 86-year-old California man who passed out while mowing his lawn. The man, who asked to remain nameless, had refused to ask his family or neighbors for help with chores. He probably spent the majority of his life doing chores around the house and taking care of his own front lawn. Unfortunately, we all reach an age when these activities are undoable, especially in the California heat. When the EMT’s came to this man’s rescue, one of them stayed behind to finish mowing his lawn. The old man couldn’t ask for help, but this selfless EMT knew that it’s what he would have wanted. Hopefully, the man makes a speedy recovery and can return home to his newly-cut grass soon! Don’t forget to SHARE this kind gesture with your friends and family! 60-Year-Old Dances On “Ellen”

The Bruno Mars song “Uptown Funk” has captured the world since its release in 2014. The music video has more than one billion views, and the song reportedly makes over $100,000 per week from streams on Spotify. One of the reasons the song is so popular is it’s just so much fun to dance to. If you’ve been to any party or large event over the past few years, you’ve probably heard the song blaring through the speakers, and danced along to it with everyone else.  One person who really knows how to dance to this song is Shirley Clements. She is a dance instructor from Canada who recently taught her students a dance to the pop hit and recorded a video of herself performing it with them. What makes Shirley so unique? She is 60 years old and on the verge of retirement. In fact, the song “Uptown Funk” inspired her because it contains the lyric “Makes a dragon want to retire.” Shirley just so happens to work at a school where the mascot is a dragon, so the opportunity to dance to it was just too good to pass up.  When Shirley’s video was uploaded, Ellen shared it on her website and it became a viral hit. Soon, Shirley became so popular that Ellen invited her onto the show to perform the dance live in front of her studio audience. Shirley nailed her routine and now has the title of the hippest retiree in all of Canada.  Be sure to SHARE this awesome video with your friends and family.  H/T: TheEllenShow Read more: http://www.wimp.com/60-year-old-dances-on-ellen/

Don’t Turn Your Back On This Plant

When you think of predators in nature, you probably don’t think of bramble. Sure, they can be annoying but what real harm can they do? Surprisingly, these are plants you don’t want to mess with. Sheep routinely get caught within the plant’s grasp, and if they are not rescued in time will succumb to the elements and end up as plant food.  Though bramble are not necessarily considered carnivorous, the evidence presented in this video presents a strong case that maybe they should be. Either way, you might want to be a little more cautious around these plants next time you see them, especially if you are a sheep. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/carnivorous-bramble-traps-sheep/
