Do you have a pile of pavers that you’ve been meaning to get around to? Would you like a method that’s easier than laying them by hand? Finally, do you have an extra $45,000 – $60,000 saved up that you can’t wait to spend? Even if you answered “No” to all three of those questions, Tiger Stone is still worth checking out. Tiger Stone is a German brick-laying machine that’ll mystify anyone, whether they have roads to pave or not. Loose bricks are stacked into neat rows and inserted into the machine. It then lays the bricks in their proper pattern at a speed four times faster than paving by hand. It’s never too late to quit your job and start laying bricks, especially when there are machines as cool as Tiger Stone to help you out. Josh Groban is known for his incredible solo work, but that doesn’t mean he can’t share the stage every now and again. Duets bring out something special in one’s voice that can only be achieved by listening and responding to another singer’s performance. Just like the time he sang an impromptu duet with a shy fan, this collaboration with Kelly Clarkson is definitely worth a listen. The two expert vocalists deliver a powerful rendition of “All I Ask Of You” from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 1986 musical The Phantom of the Opera. Their performance is packed with emotion as they portray two lovers vowing to protect one another. This clip is a small sample of what we can look forward to in Groban’s new special that’s set to premiere on PBS this December. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/josh-groban-kelly-clarkson-duet/
Have you ever been under so much pressure that even the simplest questions proved extremely difficult? This tends to happen a lot on game shows, where a player will lose on an easy question because they let their nerves get to them. We all laugh when a contestant on “Wheel of Fortune” accidentally says “Beauty and the Feast,” but we all know that, under similar circumstances, that could just as easily be us. Sometimes, though, people let their nerves get to them when they haven’t even been asked a question at all. These two thieves learned this lesson when one of them nervously spoke up during their court hearing. Next time you find yourself under pressure, remember to take a deep breath and think about your answer, especially if it’s on TV. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/court-case-mistake/

There’s a lot of fake jetpacks out there, but finally we get to see a real one in action. JetPack Aviation has recently released test footage of the JB-9, the world’s only true jetpack. So what makes it a true jetpack? Unlike other jetpack prototypes, the JB-9 is powered by a real jet engine and is capable of a vertical take-off and landing. According to the designers, the ultimate goal is to create a jetpack that can launch a pilot thousands of feet in the air within a matter of seconds. Though the JB-9 is still in the testing phase, work has already begun on the JB-10. JetPack Aviation promises that its next version will lift the pilot 10,000 feet in the air and travel at 100 mph. We’re very close to the day when you’ll have to decide whether to take your self-driving car to work in the morning or your jetpack. Personally, I’ll choose jetpack everytime. With the advent of drones and tiny high definition cameras like the GoPro, exploring dangerous areas has become easier than ever, but risks still remain. We don’t want to give away the ending but be prepared to thank the heavens you aren’t this drone. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/rattlesnake-vs-drone/
The GAU-8 Avenger is not a gun to play with. It’s so massive that the rest of the airplane has to be built around it. The primary function of the weapon is to take out enemy tanks. This is done by its incredibly high firing rate. The GAU-8 Avenger fires a whopping 3,900 rounds per minute. Because of this, the Avenger holds the record for largest gun in a combat jet. The heavy gun was introduced into combat in 1977 after a lengthy development by GE. 40 years later, the GAU-8 Avenger remains an important piece of military technology and very impressive to see in action. You definitely don’t want to be in a tank if you see one of these flying overhead. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/worlds-largest-combat-jet/
When you look into the sky on a clear evening, you can see thousands of stars, but that basic view doesn’t ever scratch the surface of the vastness of space. To truly understand how big space is you need a bigger picture. How big? How about a gigapixel image? That’s one billion pixels. This gigapixel image focuses on the Andromeda galaxy, roughly 2.5 million light-years from Earth, and full of stars. What initially looks like just a small sliver of bigger images reveals itself to be a landscape of staggering beauty. Just that little bit of space is full of stars, planets, and moons, hidden at first from our limited ability to see. These images were taken by the Hubble satellite and published by NASA. Tonight, go out and look at the stars, and then think about all the ones that are out there, beyond our line of sight. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/gigapixel-andromeda/
