A War Veteran Has A Heartwarming Reunion With His Dogs

Science is still researching the unique biological and neurological aspects of our relationship with dogs. It’s a pretty special one as far as nature goes and the more we discover about it, the more fascinating it is. In many ways, we respond to dogs the same way we respond to humans. More than most other animals. Dogs, for their part, treat us very much like a fellow dog as well. Researchers think that a lot of this has to do with the shared evolution and history of dogs and humans. We have, after all, been living alongside them since at least the Ice Age. When we weren’t helping each other take down woolly mammoths and whatnot, we seem to have spent quite a bit of time keeping each other warm and enjoying each other’s company. We have learned to understand many of the ways dogs communicate with us and vice versa. Dogs can understand our words and the emotion behind them. They can even pick up on our body language and their powerful noses tell them even more about us than most humans know about each other. So it’s not so crazy that someone could form an intense bond with a dog. Or that a dog could do the same with a person. It’s nature and it’s science. When you see the lengths people went to in this video, you might think it’s a little crazy. But when you see the reaction of the dogs when they see their person getting out of that car … You’ll get it. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/veteran-reunites-dogs-cross-country/

Father Builds “Santa Stop Here” Light Display For His Son After Moving Houses

Advertisement As a child over the holidays, your hopes and fears are all limited to pretty much one thing – the imminent arrival of Santa. Santa’s obviously the star of the show here and excited kids go to great lengths to make sure he’s coming, laying out milk and cookies to sweeten him up (maybe into giving more presents) and tracking his flight pattern with the NORAD santa tracker.  One source of holiday anxiety for kids comes as a result of having moved houses recently. How will Santa know you live somewhere else now? How will he get your new address? What if the kids who lived in your new house before you were on the permanent “Naughty” list and Santa never updated the database? Egads!  These are just a few of the concerns that 6-year-old Archie from New Zealand probably had racing through his mind after his family recently relocated to Queensberry, New Zealand. His mother said he was pretty worried about it, but thankfully his father, Nick, has his back. Teaming up with Air New Zealand, he set up a surprise for his son that has touched people all over the world. Meet 6-year-old Archie. His family just recently moved from Australia to New Zealand. He was worried Santa wouldn’t find their new home, stating that if Santa skipped them over he would “probably cry for about 12 days,” which is an adorably specific number of days. Advertisement Luckily, his father Nick is on it. After working with a team from Air New Zealand all day while Archie was out fishing with his mom. When they came back, Nick led them to the big surprise. As you can see, the look on Archie’s face is priceless. Advertisement Nick and the team set up a giant light display leading to their house. There’s no way Santa’s missing them now! Archie is, understandably, beyond delighted at the surprise. Advertisement He also got some gifts from the Air New Zealand staff, just in case. Disturbed Performs A Beautiful Simon & Garfunkel Cover On “Conan”

This isn’t your dad’s folk tune. Well, I mean, technically it is. Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” is an instantly recognizable classic, thanks in part to its inclusion in the 1967 film, The Graduate. It has since been used to great effect in dozens of films and television shows, including, perhaps most famously, the cult hit Arrested Development, where it became a recurring theme, used to telegraph the inner thoughts of the Bluth family. But when metal band Disturbed showed up on Conan, they did something very few expected. Instead of one of their visceral, often-profanity-laden, angst-ridden scorchers, such as “Down with the Sickness,” lead singer David Draiman stood up in front of his band and a group of classical musicians to deliver a stunning rendition of the 1964 folk song, penned by Paul Simon. Not only is it a very different style from the band’s past hits, this live performance also shows off Draiman’s remarkable singing voice, creating a new intensity in a song that is already plenty stark, moody, and haunting. This performance works, not only because it’s so unexpected but also because it’s so darn good. It could have been a novelty or a quirky flash-in-the-pan, but no, this cover is sure to go down in the annals of great covers that rise to the level of equal-or-better to the original. Don’t forget to SHARE this amazing performance with your friends and family! H/T: Team Coco Read more: http://www.wimp.com/disturbed-performs-a-beautiful-simon-garfunkel-cover-on-conan/

A Cure For Parkinson’s

Parkinson’s disease is a nasty condition that affects millions of people throughout the world. It’s so common that almost everyone knows someone who is directly affected by it. In severe cases, Parkinson’s can completely incapacitate a person’s motor skills, leaving them unable to do basic activities. For the last few decades, science has fought hard against the disease with very little success. But recently, a new technology may completely transform the way Parkinson’s is treated, and the results are changing lives.  Parkinson’s disease slowly kills nerve cells and lowers dopamine levels in the body. The outward sign of this is the shaking and muscle spasms that Parkinson’s has come to be associated with. Other symptoms are muscle stiffness and slowness of movement. The new treatment involves surgically implanted deep brain stimulation. Once the treatment is activated, the symptoms of Parkinson’s will stop.  In the video below, a man known as Mr. Richardson undergoes the treatment on camera. When he first sits down, you can tell just by watching him for a few seconds how severe his Parkinson’s is. But, as soon as the treatment is activated, the symptoms immediately stop. Mr. Richardson’s violent shaking instantly becomes nothing but a soft movement, and he is able to touch the tips of his fingers together, something he was never able to do while suffering from the disease. This treatment has the opportunity to change millions of lives, and we can’t wait until it’s widespread.  Be sure to SHARE this awesome video with your friends and family.  H/T: The NeuroMedical Center Clinic Read more: http://www.wimp.com/a-cure-for-parkinsons/

Listen To The Legendary Kenny Rogers Sing An A Capella Christmas Carol

One of the most wonderful parts of the holiday season is the festive music that comes along with it. While hearing the classics played by a giant orchestra or sung by a large choir has its own charm, hearing the magic that can be made just using human voice is truly special, as a cappella groups have shown time and time again. In this case, though, the magic also comes from the man in red, Kenny Rogers. Since his career began in 1958, Rogers has become one of the most universally successful performers of all time. Although he’s best known by country audiences, he’s had more than 120 hits in many different genres. He’s won dozens of awards, including Grammys, and even experienced success as an actor, too. Steve Harvey Reacts To The “Bridal Buddy”

Last month, we showed you a commercial for a new invention called the Bridal Buddy. On paper, the concept sounds pretty silly. It’s a slip that you wear underneath your dress to help gather it up before you go to the bathroom. But, when you see the Bridal Buddy in action, you can’t help but acknowledge how useful it is. In the two weeks after their commercial went viral, Bridal Buddy’s online sales doubled! Now, their next challenge is getting big-box stores and bridal salons interested in what they’re selling. Recently, the inventor of the Bridal Buddy appeared on Steve Harvey’s “Boss Lady Hour” to pitch her product. There, she received advice from Steve himself, as well as Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop. Joy said that, “It may not be the most glamorous item … but it absolutely is something every bride has dealt with.” She goes on to point out how the Bridal Buddy could also be beneficial for students attending prom and college formals. So, what do you think? Will you use a Bridal Buddy the next time you have to dress up in a gown? After all, you might not end up needing to use it, but I’m not sure if that’s a chance I’d be willing to take … Don’t forget to SHARE this clever invention with your friends and family! Two Grannies, One Lamborghini, And A Whole Lot Of Laughs

Old people are notorious for their slow driving, right? That may be the case in a lot of places, but out in Los Angeles, California, there are at least two grannies who don’t mind living fast! Donut Media, a car-enthusiast media company, recently gave the keys to a 650 horsepower Lamborghini Murcielago to Peggy Glenn and Audrey Linden. After almost crashing into the garage door before the ride even begins, they get the hang of it and start enjoying the thrill of being in a luxury sports car. Grandmas are almost always entertaining in our experience, and these two ladies don’t disappoint. They have an absolute blast waving to strangers and getting all kinds of looks as they drive down Venice Boulevard. They wonder if their newfound coolness might land them a slot in the Rose Parade, and express their desire to “tear rubber,” possibly because just regular ol’ “burning rubber” is not cool enough for them.  Their joy ride culminates with a trip to the grocery store, where they gossip about cute checkout boys like a couple of teen girls. Upon arriving back at the car, they discover one of the Lamborghini’s interesting features – the engine is located in the rear of the car, where the trunk usually is, and the trunk is up front under the hood. While they try to figure that out, a dashing grandpa comes and inquires about the car, and Peggy enthusiastically encourages Audrey to “chat him up.” These ladies are clearly still quite young at heart!
