You might be surprised to know just how many Star Wars fans are out there. Between the two trilogies of movies, comic books, novels and television shows, Star Wars has fans across many different generations of people and from all walks of life. A Ride Through The Alps

When we picture the Alpine mountains, the gorgeous range that passes through eight different European countries, we often think of tranquil fields, snow-covered rocks, and breathtaking views. All of these things, and more, are captured in the following video, as well as one other thing that you’d never expect to see in the middle of the Alps: a roller coaster. That’s right, gliding through the Alps is something called a “mountain coaster,” and it takes the term “thrill ride” to a whole new level.  Part roller coaster, part bobsled, the mountain coaster is a unique way to see nature. The roller coasters we’re used to riding are often located inside amusement parks. While they’re still fun, the view isn’t anything to get too excited about, not to mention all of the hills and turns in amusement park roller coasters were handmade. Mountain coasters use the natural dips and twists of the land to deliver an exciting, 100 percent natural experience. The following clip was filmed in the Swiss Alps in 2013. Brice Milleson, the rider, straps on a camera and puts us right in the action. I’ve always wanted to visit Switzerland, but after watching Brice’s adventure, I might not need to anymore. If riding a mountain coaster is something you want to try for yourself, chances are you can! They’re increasing in popularity, and most mountain ranges feature at least one. Unless you live in the middle of Iowa, you’ll probably be able to find one near you. H/T: Brice Milleson Read more: http://www.wimp.com/alps-mountain-coaster-ride-amazing-view/

“The Impossible Dream”

Since its debut in the 1965 Broadway musical Man of La Mancha “The Impossible Dream†has remained a favorite of vocalists and audiences alike. Every one from Elvis to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have covered it, but there’s one rendition that looms large over all the others, that of Jim Nabors from the 60s TV show Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. This performance, from the episode “The Show Must Go On”, aired November 3, 1967, features Nabors soaring voice accompanied by the Marine Corps Band. At the beginning of the clip Nabors’ Pyle has lost his voice right before a big performance. Just when all hope seems lost he finds inspiration at the steps of the Lincon memorial. When you hear his final notes you’ll understand exactly why this performance has endured for 48 years.  Read more: http://www.wimp.com/gomer-pyle/

Friends camp out for days in order to snag the perfect seat at the premiere. Parents marvel as their children experience the galaxy that brought them so much excitement. Heck, fans have even gotten married while waiting in line for the movies. This wife had a similar idea when she and her husband were visiting Disney World a week ago. She had something special to tell her husband, who also happens to be a huge Star Wars fan, and decided to get some help from the series’ most iconic villain. We can only hope that they don’t take any of Darth’s parenting advice. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/bryan-starr-pregnancy-surprise-star-wars/

Dog Refuses To Give Up His Pacifier

If you were on Family Feud and got asked to name cute things, we’re guessing dogs and babies would make the list. Well, this video might just top everything else to make the number one spot. At least, that’s what our informal survey says. Maybe it’s the baby-doggy confusion situation going on that’s amped up the cuteness levels to overload, or maybe you just can’t put a finger on it, but make no mistake, this is one adorable dog. We’re also pretty sure that we’ve never seen a dog so casual about his one true passion. No growling, or attempts to flee with his joy-giving toy, he simply swats his mama’s hand away like so many indifferent and aloof cats might. Though, given his apparent dire need for soothing, maybe he’s had an incredibly busy and active day and just doesn’t quite have the strength to do anything more. Either way, this pacified pooch is sure to brighten your day almost as much as his binky is brightening his. The look on his face is simply priceless as he matches wits with a lady determined to take his fun away. Nothing’s going to stand in this dog’s way as he soothes himself to sleep. At least until he’s too drowsy to block that hand coming at him. H/T: Daily Picks And Flicks Read more: http://www.wimp.com/dog-pacifier-adorable/

This Teenager Uses Shadows To Recreate An Iconic Movie Moment

Shadow puppets are an iconic image from many of our childhoods. You’d be at a sleepover or huddled around a campfire when one of your friends moved their hands in front of the light, transforming the shadows into something more. Back then, the shadow figures didn’t get too complex, but when explored further you’ll discover that shadow art is full of possibility. Shadow art has so much potential because it doesn’t require any expensive tools or materials. To get started, all you need are a few household objects and a light source. Youtuber Sana Anil Kumar demonstrates the level of detail that can be achieved using the shadows from simple items. Kumar’s shadow art asks us to look at the things around us in a whole new light. Cop Buys Car Seat For Struggling Father

When LaVonte Dell was pulled over by the police, he had no idea that the events that were about to unfold would make him a viral sensation. It all started when Officer Joshua Scaglione of the Westland, Michigan Police Department stopped Dell’s vehicle to warn him about the tinted windows on his car. Upon further inspection, Scaglione noticed Dell’s 3-year-old daughter sitting in the backseat without a car seat. Out of fear, Dell explained that he was going through a very rough patch in his life and couldn’t afford a car seat for his daughter. He expected the worst, but that’s when things took an unexpected turn.  Touched by Dell’s story, Scaglione decided to pardon him from getting a ticket. He even bought him a new car seat for his daughter. It was a small gesture, but one that had a profound effect on Dell. He immediately went to social media to share his story with his friends, and it quickly went viral. ABC News went to the location where it all happened to get an interview from Officer Scaglione and LaVonte Dell, and both were amazed by how a small random act of kindness brought them so much attention. When asked about the whole situation, LaVonte Dell told reporters “Don’t judge a book by its cover. You’ll be surprised what comes out of it.” Officer Scaglione shared the same sentiment, and he hopes this video will help change the negative perception surrounding police officers in the country. Be sure to SHARE this amazing story with your family and friends. H/T: ABC News Read more: http://www.wimp.com/cop-buys-car-seat-for-struggling-father/

Musician Plays For A Crowd Of Cats In Malaysia

Every amateur musician dreams of playing in a sold out stadium in front of thousands of screaming fans. It’s a common day dream for those in the music industry, but one that will most likely never come true. So what do you do instead? Play for anyone who will listen. That’s why street performers are so common; they want an audience of any kind who will stop and listen to the music they’ve poured their soul into.  One street musician in Malaysia recently performed to an audience he never expected to be in front of – a crowd of kittens. It happened one night just as he was about to pack it in and call it a day. At first, just two kittens walked up and sat down in front of the man as he played his tunes. Then, suddenly, more kittens started to show up and listen with a patient ear as the man performed for his feline audience.  The kittens were all less than three months old, which makes their actions even cuter. It may not be a crowded stadium filled with adoring fans, but this musician’s kitten audience is about as memorable and far more adorable. If every street musician had a crowd of kittens following their every move, the world would be a much happier place.  Be sure to SHARE this amazing moment with your family and friends.
