When you’re having a bad day, even the smallest act of kindness can turn things around. Here at Wimp, we love videos showcasing random acts of kindness since they give us a glimpse of the wonderful things that people are capable of. For instance, this 21-year-old celebrated his birthday by helping people in a parking lot. One of the easiest ways to brighten someone’s day is leaving them a generous tip. Those working in the food service industry don’t get paid nearly enough for how difficult their job can be. One church recently put in a big order for pizzas that needed to be dropped off early. This meant Jeff Louis had to go into work before he was supposed to in order to get it there on time. When he arrived at the church, however, he wasn’t expecting to be compensated in such a remarkable way. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/pizza-delivery-700-tip-jeff-louis/
Whales are some of the world’s most mysterious creatures. For as long as humans have been around, we’ve been fascinated by these giant marine mammals. Are they monsters or just a big fish? We’ve been asking these questions for centuries and only recently have learned how these animals actually live. One thing is for sure, when you see one pop out of the water, it’s one of the most glorious things you could ever witness. When it comes to whale lovers, you might not find a more passionate one than James Moskito. James is a diver and volunteer animal activist. One day, his team came across a whale off the coast of California that was in serious need of help. The large animal had gotten tangled in ropes that were attached to a 3,000-pound anchor hanging from its tail. When James and his team first arrived, things didn’t look good, but they were determined to help. When he retells the story, he says: “Some of the individual ropes went into the blubber two or three inches deep. I put my hand on the whale and I told the whale, ‘Okay. This is gonna hurt.’ The whale was so cooperative, it would open its mouth and a guy would put his hand up inside of it and pull pieces of rope out of the baleen, one by one.” After five long hours, the ropes were finally all cut off and the whale was free, and that’s when something truly amazing happened. The whale swam to the bottom of the sea and then back up towards James. According to his story, the whale stopped right in front of him, and like a puppy, waited for James to pet him. To hear what happened after that, you can watch the video below to see James describe an encounter he’ll never forget. Be sure to SHARE this remarkable story with your friends and family. Speed painting has been a popular way to combine the skills of fine art with the performance and flair of a rock and roll show for some time now. Viktor, a French artist working in Nice, has made quite a career out of the art form, and specializes in creating portraits for parties and events. His most well-known twist on the style is glitter and glue painting. Using carefully planned lighting and a black canvas, Viktor rapidly creates a portrait in nearly invisible glue. Then he stuns his audience by flinging glitter at the work, suddenly revealing a shimmering, perfectly rendered portrait of someone in the audience. Well, knowing that a twist like that will only wow for so long, Viktor has created what, as far as we’re aware, seems to be an entirely new “speed” art form: speed carving. Beginning with a brick wall covered in plaster, Viktor rapidly begins to chisel away to the tune of “Another One Bites The Dust” (get it, dust? Eh? Eh?) by Queen. When he’s finished? Well, wait and see. H/T: VIKPAINT Read more: http://www.wimp.com/minutes-carving-amazing-vikpaint/
This baby looks like she’s got the perfect big brother. After all, why wouldn’t a dog make the best sibling ever? They’re loving and enjoy showing affection. They are incredibly loyal and remain with their families through thick and thin. They can even be trained to help out around the house … something that’s sorely needed with a new (and time-consuming) baby in the house! While not every pup is as great a babysitter as Charlie the beagle, there are some things parents can do to help their dog get used to a new baby. Start by getting your dog to associate the baby with good things. Each time your dog interacts with the baby in a positive way, lavish him with attention, petting, or treats. Try taking the baby along when you walk your dog, play fetch, or do other activities your dog enjoys. It’s also important to try to get the two to coexist peacefully … and eventually happily! At the end of the day, your pup is a pup and your child is a child. You’ll never get them to sit quietly and behave perfectly at all the right times. Therefore, remember to avoid giving your pup lots of attention while the baby is asleep and try to get him to be calm while the baby is awake. Instead, praise him for being gentle around the new baby and being careful. If you give your dog attention when the baby is around, he will learn to be excited for those times. Don’t forget to SHARE this sweet brother-sister duo with family and friends! Read more: http://www.wimp.com/why-you-should-have-a-dog-and-a-baby/

Children who suffer from extreme abuse have a long road on the path to recovery. Even for those who go on to lead somewhat normal lives, the scars of their past will follow them forever. It has been said that overcoming great obstacles is something that makes you stronger, but some are so large that they can leave individuals broken for the rest of their lives. Bernie and Diane had always loved the idea of having a large family. After the couple’s kids grew up, they felt like they still had a lot of love to give. Since they had already raised five boys of their own, the two decided that they wanted to change things up by adopting a little girl. There was some discussion as to how to go about doing so, but it was eventually decided that they would attend a local adoption fair to find the perfect child. However, even though there were hundreds of children in attendance, Diane became drawn to the photo of a child who wasn’t there. The couple was told that the girl in the photo wasn’t meant for adoption and that there was something gravely wrong with her. After some investigation, they discovered that the girl was the victim of an extreme case of abuse. Her name was Danielle and she was considered to be feral. She couldn’t talk or eat solid food, and she had never been outside for most of her life because she was locked in a room with a soiled mattress. She was seven years old when police discovered her, but she was at a developmental age of below six months old. Bernie and Diane were told that the difficulties of caring for this child would be insurmountable, but the couple strived to do what many thought would never happen: give this little girl a loving home.
