This man is building a cathedral in Spain all by himself

Building something as complicated as a cathedral usually requires a whole team of qualified people, but that didn’t stop Justo Gallego. For the past 53 years he’s been building his very own church by hand on the outskirts of Madrid and the only person on his team is himself. With no formal architecture training, this is truly a passion project for Gallego and what he’s been able to accomplish by himself is truly astounding. Sheriffs Deputy Celebrates Retirement With Elevator Dance Party

How well do your co-workers know the real you? Work is a place where people are pretty serious and task-oriented, so it can be hard to get a feel for what a fellow employee is like when they really cut loose. If someone asked my coworkers about my hobbies, they’d probably respond by saying that I seem to like stapling things and sending emails. Unfortunately, those couldn’t be further from my favorite activities. So, how do we get to know our coworkers? One Sheriff’s Deputy in Colorado Springs had a great idea for his last day of work before retirement. Instead of holding in how excited he was about retiring, Tony Scherb decided to show off his best dance moves in celebration of the big day. He chose the elevator as his stage, thinking it’d be hidden from his co-workers and their potentially judgmental looks. Lucky for us, maintenance had just installed a security camera on the ceiling of that elevator to help monitor recent issues. When those doors shut and this deputy sheriff cranks his music up, well … let’s just say that he won’t be retiring from dancing anytime soon. If you’d like to get to know your co-workers better, we’d recommend taking a page from Tony’s book and starting an elevator dance party. Dancing is a great way to let loose, look a little silly and have a good laugh. After all, we see our co-workers almost every day of the week, so we might as well have some fun when we’re around them. Rare Footage Of A Moose Losing His Antler

Here at Wimp, it’s pretty easy to see that we absolutely love dogs and cats. But did you know that our love extends all across the animal world? Give us an awesome whale video any day of the week! And moose? We go absolutely crazy for those large, antlered mammals. And we’re not alone; just listen to the completely awestruck voices of the family in the video below. While at their family cabin in Wyoming, Kim Eberhart caught sight of one of these majestic creatures and, luckily for us, knew she just had to capture the moment! But the shock at catching a glimpse of the large bull moose wasn’t the only one the Eberharts got that day. “The moose shook his head and his paddle fell off right in front of us! It was amazing,” Kim said. “He then looked a little scared and stunned and was shaking his head and made a really mournful sound afterwards.” But don’t waste your time worrying about this big fella! While he might have convinced the family he was in pain with his sounds, animal experts say that shedding their antlers is actually a source of great relief for moose; the antlers of an adult moose can spread up to six feet and weigh a whopping 40 pounds. It might also be comforting to know that the antlers aren’t gone for good, or even for very long. Within a few days after the old antlers shed, new antlers and velvet skin, which cover the antlers and contain nerves and blood vessels to help nourish the new fledgling antlers, begin to grow. Loved seeing a bull moose in his natural habitat? Just A Casual Game Of Catch On A Hoverboard

NASA may have just discovered water on Mars, but the real success of futuristic technology may be on display here as a group of friends in Nashville, Tennessee completed a frisbee toss for the ages. Standing on a bridge overlooking the Cumberland River, one man launches a frisbee with all his might into the water below. Waiting for the catch is another man on a hoverboard, who makes the effortless grab. The trick was done by a group called Ultimate Insanity, four friends who specialize in extreme sports stunts. Ultimate Insanity has also pulled off basketball, skiing, and hang gliding tricks, but the frisbee toss remains their most popular and probably the toughest one to try to top. Jackie Evancho Delivers A Stirring Performance Of “I Believe”

Classical music has a new star, and her name is “Jackie Evancho.” Well, since she made her debut about seven years ago, the young singer might not be “new,” but she’s definitely putting a new spin on the genre of classical music. Her first big break came when she was only 10 years old. After submitting to talent competition after talent competition, Evancho finally found an audience when she submitted one of her YouTube videos to the 5th season of America’s Got Talent. She went on to finish in 2nd place that season, a dangerous place for any singer who could easily fade back into obscurity after minor success on reality television. Jackie, on the other hand, did quite the opposite. So many people had seen what she was capable of on America’s Got Talent, and she began experiencing a surge of popularity. That following winter, Evancho released “O Holy Night,” her first EP. This record earned her the titles of “Best Selling Debut Artist of 2010,” “Youngest Top-10 Debut Artist in U.S. History” and “Youngest Platinum Solo Artist in the U.S.” Impressed yet? If not, we’re just getting started. She’s performed in front of President Barack Obama and is the youngest person to have ever performed a solo concert in New York City’s famous Lincoln Center. Believe it or not, her greatness doesn’t end on the stage. Jacke Evancho is also an ambassador for a program called “Mission: Humane,” which teaches children about the importance of protecting animals. She’s still touring and releasing new music today, so be sure to check out her website if you’re interested in seeing her live. This clip from 2011 features Jackie singing a song composed by her Uncle Matthew. If she was this good four years ago, we can hardly imagine how good she’ll be four years from now. Jeanne Robertson Explains Why You Don’t Trust Men With Luggage

Christmas was only a few days ago, which means you might have had a run-in with one of your more frugal family members. Now, there’s nothing wrong with being frugal, to an extent, but there comes a point when the effort you go through to save a buck is way more trouble than it’s worth.  When comedian Jeanne Robertson was invited to deliver a speech in Hawaii, she and her husband decided to make a vacation out of it. The only problem was that they had to fly out of different airports, leaving him in charge of transporting the luggage. Let’s just say that her husband puts more effort into saving money on luggage than most people put into choosing a name for their firstborn child. Check out the entire hilarious story below to see why Jeanne spells frugal “C-H-E-A-P.” Read more: http://www.wimp.com/jeanne-robertson-husband-luggage-hawaii/

This Pyramid Cake With A Hidden Chamber Is Too Cool To Eat

Cake is one of life’s greatest gifts. You never get tired of eating it, and it’s always there on your biggest days. Whether it’s your wedding, a birthday, or an anniversary, cake is always there to celebrate with you. Now, you could just go out to a store and have a cake made, but in my opinion, there’s nothing better than when it’s homemade – and no one knows how to do homemade cakes quite like the folks at How To Cake It.  In this video, you will learn how to make a colorful pyramid cake. It looks fantastic from the outside, but once you see the surprise that’s waiting within, your mind will be blown. She starts with a whopping 32 pounds of vanilla cake batter (that should give you an idea of how huge this will be). She also uses six different colors of food dye and 12 cake pans. She turns the cake into a pyramid by using rulers and serrated knifes to form a perfect shape. It’s a tedious process but the results are well worth it. Her secret is using chocolate ganache to hold everything together. This gives the cake the sturdiness it needs to stand upright. So, what’s the big surprise? We won’t spoil it here, but let’s just say that cutting into this cake is an experience you won’t soon forget. Watch the whole video to find out why. Be sure to SHARE this amazing video with your family and friends. H/T: How To Cake It Read more: http://www.wimp.com/this-pyramid-cake-with-a-hidden-chamber-is-too-cool-to-eat/

The Story Of A Quadruple Amputee And His True Love

The brave men and women who defend our country have their courage put to the test every single day. They go through intense training to prepare them for harsh conditions, spend months away from their loved ones while serving overseas, and have to adjust to life back home, along with any injuries they’ve sustained, once their duty is done. Few soldiers exemplify this struggle better than Taylor Morris. Taylor Morris grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa with dreams of being a part of Special Operations in the U.S. Navy. He joined after graduating high school and eventually found his place in EOD, or Explosive Ordinance Disposal. You know in action movies when the hero disarms a bomb by cutting the blue wire instead of the red wire? Well, Taylor’s job is about 1000 times more complicated than that. He dealt with bombs for a living, a job that carries a high risk of injury. Those who work as EOD techs have to be willing to make the sacrifice that comes with their job. Unfortunately for Taylor, that sacrifice came a lot sooner than he, or his loved ones, were expecting. The 23-year-old soldier injured all four of his limbs, resulting in the amputation of both legs, his right hand, and most of his left arm. Returning home like this would crush even the strongest of spirits, but Taylor endured like a true warrior. The following video traces his journey over the period of a few months, capturing every inspiring moment along the way. Today, Taylor stands as a symbol of optimism in the face of pain and destruction. If you’d like to learn more about his story or donate to his charity, you can visit his website by clicking here.
