Dog Given Up For Being Too Affectionate

Advertisement It isn’t uncommon for animals to find themselves at shelters when their owners no longer can or want to take care of them. Unfortunately, many of these animals are dropped off because their owners weren’t prepared for the amount of work and commitment involved with taking care of a pet. Aside from taking into consideration the cost of feeding another mouth, owners frequently don’t account for training, possible health issues down the road and lifestyle changes. For this reason, it is very strongly encouraged that potential owners do as much research as possible before making a commitment. At the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe, Texas, a dog was recently dropped off for a very unusual reason. At just 1 year old, Jubilee found herself being left at a shelter because her owner said that she was “too affectionate.” It’s easy to tell from this picture that Jubilee is nothing short of a furry ball of love. Sadly, she was dropped off at the shelter due to her affectionate nature. The staff was shocked to hear that she was no longer wanted because she “always wants to be by my side.” Montgomery County Animal Shelter After filling out the forms and being handed over, she never saw her owner again. It’s hard to image the confusion and sorrow that she went through not knowing what she did to deserve this fate. A visitor of the shelter managed to snap this photo as she was being surrendered: Holly Steirman Advertisement When Jubilee’s story went public, tens of thousands of people on the Internet shared her story across social media. Her heartbreaking story resulted in a flood of adoption offers to the shelter for the dog that had so much love to give. Jubilee The very next day after Jubilee was left at the shelter, a wonderful person named Samantha applied to adopt Jubilee. After a meet-and-greet with each other, the two eventually went home together. Montgomery County Animal Shelter Jubilee is now happy in her new home with her new family. Rescuing dogs in need is not something new for Samantha as she has another rescued dog named Abby. Jubilee Advertisement This heartfelt story doesn’t end there, however, as two other families that came in to adopt Jubilee would go on to adopt other dogs from the shelter that day. Jubilee’s struggles would give two other dogs great homes. Every cloud has a silver lining. Horses Take A Nap And Majestically Pass Gas

Liz Mitten Ryan is the owner of a special horse retreat called Equinisity. The retreat is famous for its beautiful, natural surroundings and wildlife, including several wild horses. Although the horses at Equinisity have all been raised with plenty of human love and affection, they pretty much have the run of the place to themselves. There is a barn on the premises, but the horses are usually roaming free. The barn doors are left open for them to come and go as they please. One day, as Liz was walking around her 320-acre property, she noticed a strange sound emanating from the barn. She found that several horses had decided to use it as a resting spot after they’d had their lunch – a little afternoon siesta, if you will. At first sight, the most remarkable thing is that they’re all lying down. Although horses are known for sleeping standing up, they need to lie down in order to get that nice, deep R.E.M. sleep. One of the main deciding factors in whether they lie down or stand up while sleeping is how comfortable they feel. With the way Liz takes such good care of them, it’s clear they’re all very comfortable here. Now, that’s all well and good, but the real reason this video caught everyone’s attention is that sound Liz heard – the one that drew her to the barn in the first place. Well, apparently the horses were digesting their meals in their sleep and the process made them a little … gassy. Rest assured, however, that all of these horses are in good health. Just like people and dogs, horses sometimes get gassy after a meal too, and the best remedy is universal – better out than in! Read more: http://www.wimp.com/horses-nap-and-pass-gas-majestically/

Neighbors Leave The Perfect Hot Weather Surprise Out For Mail Carriers

They’re out there every day. You might not even see them. You might not even think about them. This is part of what makes being a letter carrier such a thankless job. Many people these days even forget about the common courtesy of tipping on Christmas. That seems to be changing however, at least if the folks of The Village, Oklahoma, are any indication. Unlike The Village of the eponymous movie, these friends and neighbors love to have folks visit their doorsteps. What they find waiting for them is a cooler full of ice cold water. In some cases, there’s even a slew of options, like energy drinks, sodas, and Gatorade. It’s a simple gesture that can make the world of difference on a sweltering day. After all, walking down the street in high heat can be brutal enough. Now try it with 50 pounds of mail on your back. Many folks have responded to this video by saying they don’t just reserve this warm weather treat for letter carriers. Sanitation workers, other delivery employees, even random visitors stopping by can all get in on the action. This is one of those true acts of charity that can do so much for so many, yet barely takes any effort and only costs a few bucks. So what are you waiting for? Dig out that spare cooler and wash it off for what’s sure to be a scorching summer! Don’t forget to SHARE this video with your friends! Elvis Presley Sings “Blue Christmas” In 1968

Which of Elvis’ personas is your favorite? Is it the young, leather jacket clad crooner of the early 1960s or the bedazzled showman he became in the ’70s? Although he lived a tragically short life, dying of a heart attack at the age of 42, Elvis embodied many different styles of dress and music during his time in the spotlight. While there has never been another like him, rock and roll as we know it today grew directly from his legacy.  Take, for instance, MTV’s Unplugged. From Nirvana to Miley Cyrus, many artists have taken the stage to deliver intimate, acoustic versions of their popular music, but Elvis Presley was the very first to do so. In 1968, he appeared on NBC for a live TV show that would come to be known as “The Comeback Special.” There weren’t bright lights or big effects, just a small stage surrounded by a cozy audience that included Elvis’ wife, Priscilla. After the tumultuous events of the past year, most notably the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert Kennedy, it wasn’t just a comeback for Elvis – it was a comeback for the whole nation.  To be able to tune in and hear the familiar voice of Elvis was just what everyone needed. For the King, though, things would soon take a downward turn. His marriage with Priscilla would crumble, and his relationship with his daughter, Lisa, become estranged as a result. For comfort, he would turn to alcohol, pills, and food, a combination that resulted in a swift decline in his health. But here, in this clip, I think he’s my favorite version of himself. He’s talented, ridiculously handsome, and using his music to comfort a nation that had been lost in grief for too long. After all these years, his soulful rendition of “Blue Christmas” is just as soothing as ever.  Be sure to SHARE this incredible performance with your friends and family!  H/T: MartinOldiesTapes Read more: http://www.wimp.com/elvis-presley-sings-blue-christmas-live-1968/

The Quickest Way To Get Your Dog Off The Couch

It’s certainly not anyone’s favorite part of having a baby but as the popular children’s book says, “everybody poops.” Babies who haven’t mastered the art of potty training don’t have much control over where and when it happens, which is one major component to the comedy of this video. Mom was just filming an adorable scene between her two darlings, her young son and her sleepy dog. Despite getting plenty of attention, this lazy bones just can’t seem to get up enough energy to do more than raise his eyebrows. That is until the baby does something the dog just doesn’t feel like dealing with today. It’s not just the dog’s reaction to the baby pooping that has everybody laughing. It’s what happens immediately after that really turns the hilarity up a notch. Turns out the dog was acting as a support for the child and when he bolts, the baby flops over like he’s some kind of cartoon character or slapstick comedian. Be sure to SHARE this funny video with your friends and family! H/T: Kyoot Kids Read more: http://www.wimp.com/the-quickest-way-to-get-your-dog-off-the-couch/
