Larry Benson has an incredible emotional attachment to his dream car, a 1953 Hudson Hornet. So, when his son Aaron surprised him with one, he was overcome with emotion. (It was an incredible moment.) Larry spent some of his most beloved childhood memories in his family’s Hudson as they used to travel in the car from New York to Los Angeles every summer. It was always his dream that one day he would be able to rekindle those fond memories and own a 53′ Hudson Hornet himself. Thanks to his son, that day finally arrived. (Source: Taps Media) That was awesome, he didn’t just buy his dad a car, he bought him a Time Machine. Share this surprise of a lifetime with your friends and family below. NASA‘s Chris Cassidy wanted to give fellow astronaut Luca Parmitano a warm welcome to the International Space Station last week, but a bottle of wine or a nice casserole wouldn’t cut it. Cassidy buzzed his head to match Parmitano’s signature clean-shaven look. (Hey, imitation is the best form of flattery.) However, even the most menial of tasks take on a whole new level in zero gravity. Cassidy couldn’t just pick up a standard razor — hair would be floating around the ISS for weeks. Instead, he used an electric hair trimmer and a vacuum. “I don’t think I’ve looked like this since Plebe Summer!” joked Cassidy, who has a reputation as a notorious prankster. When he arrived on board the ISS in March, he donned an over-the-top fake mustache for Commander Chris Hadfield. The fun didn’t stop with the video above. Once the nerds at Mission Control back on Earth heard about the space haircut, they jumped in on the joke with this “Wanted” poster in search of the missing hair. iPhone apps are cool and all … but when are we going to see some really powerful tricks? Turns out there’s one way, at least, to give your phone heat vision. So that’s a start. Well, today’s the day. According to early exit polls, 85 percent of voters “just want it to be over.” Who can blame them? This election season hasn’t exactly been fun for anyone. The media says that Americans are more divided than ever. In the last few months of debates and campaigning, that has seemed to be true. It feels like no one can find anything to agree on…but deep down, is one side of the aisle really that different from the other? Recently, Pedigree sent a “lost dog” into Trump and Clinton rallies. Would Republicans and Democrats put aside their differences for the love of pets? I think we can all agree on one thing… Read More: Awesome Mom Calls Live Television Show To Give Her Sons A Talking-To I completely agree with the woman who says, “Things like this give us hope that we can all find common ground.” For the love of dogs, let’s keep this sentiment in mind, no matter what the polls say tonight. Plenty of kids mess with their friends by contorting their bodies in bizarre ways. We all knew children who were inexplicably able to pull their shoulders out of their sockets or bend their thumbs back to their wrists. I’m sorry to say, however, that there might be a new King of Freaks on the playground. This boy effectively usurps the throne of weirdness by doing something absolutely insane with his neck. I know he’s probably done this a million times at this point, but is anyone else afraid that his neck is going to get stuck like that? All I know is that this kid is going to nail the backup portion of his driver’s test when the time comes. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/flexible-kid/
Holding world records is cool. Holding world records for things like this? Not so much. When we think of world record holders, we usually picture star athletes pulling off epic feats of physical fitness or people doing death-defying stunts in the name of Guinness. What we don’t usually envision is some dude popping his eyes out and keeping them like that for way, way too long. But alas, here we are. Yeah, I don’t think I can live the same life after seeing that. I think I’ll stick to working on the world’s largest stamp collection. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/eye-popping-record/
Elderly people are not known for their extensive knowledge about technology. Heck, my mom is middle aged and still complains every chance she gets about how much she hates computers. But a lot of the misconceptions about elder and technology just come from them not having a lot of time to interact with and figure out the system, without judgment. When it comes to the new iPhone X, there was a lot to figure out, even for the most seasoned tech users! That’s why, as part of the Elders React series, they let the elders run wild with a new iPhone, and the result is a joy to watch. I love when they start using the facial recognition software to create emojis. Too funny! Youtube / FBE These folks are going to be iPhone experts in no time. “Black Mirror” is a science fiction television anthology series that explores the consequences of technology we enjoy in the modern age, often giving its viewers an uncomfortable look into what our future may become. One episode called “Nosedive” paints a picture of what it would be like to live in a world where people’s Yelp-like ratings of each other determine their trustworthiness in society. If their individual scores drop too low — like what happened to the protagonist, Lacie — they not only become the outcasts of society, but may even be locked up as well. Sounds like a nightmare, right? Well, it’s set to become the reality for citizens of China just a few years from now. By 2020, the country plans to roll out its “Social Credit System” nationwide — and it will be mandatory for every citizen and company. While most of us are used to having our data tracked by sites including Google, Facebook and Instagram, the new system will also monitor residents’ credit history, friends, social interactions, shopping habits and how they spend their time in general — for example, how long they play video games. Flickr / magicatwork These behaviors will be rated as either positive or negative, raising or lowering a person’s “citizen score” and overall trustworthiness, which ranges between 350 and 950 points. This can in turn affect job and mortgage eligibility, what schools children can get into, and even a person’s ability to make friends as well. YouTube / Netflix The policy states that “it will forge a public opinion environment where keeping trust is glorious. It will strengthen sincerity in government affairs, commercial sincerity, social sincerity and the construction of judicial credibility.” But anyone who’s watched the previously mentioned “Black Mirror” episode could clearly see people living under this rating system were anything but sincere in their interactions.
