Portland Man Lives In Abandoned Airplane

Whether you fly a lot or a little, passenger aircraft don’t get much love from the public. When you’re in them, you’re mostly concerned with that crying baby in front of you, or the kid behind you, kicking your seatback. The ticket is expensive and the amenities are spartan. When you take a step back however, these aluminum behemoths are actually pretty incredible. At any given moment in the skies over America, there are around 5 billion pounds of metal, jet fuel and people hurtling through the air at hundreds of miles per hour. These planes are engineered to withstand insane forces that most of us can’t even comprehend.

When you look at it that way, it’s no wonder folks like Bruce “I live on a plane” Campbell of Oregon (not to be confused with Bruce “The Chin” Campbell, also of Oregon) fall in love with the mere concept of these wonders of the modern age to the point that they dream of buying their own. For Bruce it’s no dream, he’s got a vintage 727 from the ‘60s parked and converted into his very own dream-come-true home.
