Moving the Chernobyl arch into place
It’s been 30 years since the disaster at Chernobyl, but the remains of nuclear reactor 4 are just now being sealed up for good. In what is being called one of the world’s “most ambitious engineering projects,” a new arch was recently moved over 327 meters (1,072 feet) to its final destination, where it completely covers the old enclosure. Tell us this isn’t the most satisfying thing you’ve seen all day.
