Take A Tour Of The Garbage Man Museum

Who doesn’t love going to museums? There is always so much to do and so much to learn. All of my favorite field trips as a child were to art and science museums and I wouldn’t trade those memories for the world. The cool thing about museums, though, is that they can be about anything. You can go to the Air and Space Museum in Washington D.C., the Spam Museum in Minnesota, or the Waffle House Museum in Atlanta and learn something at all three.

Nathan Molina is a garbageman by trade, but his passion lies in collecting items for his own personal museum. What’s in his collection? Garbage … literally. Nathan works in New York, and for the past 29 years he has taken home items that he found interesting. It started small at first, but pretty soon, he had enough stuff to fill an entire room. Eventually, he had collected enough items to house a mini-museum.

Anyone who visits Nathan’s museum will tell you that his collection is way more than just trash. Every item in his museum is valuable or holds a special meaning. In the video below, Nathan shows off everything from Christmas decorations to historical artifacts, like a relic from 9/11. As of now, Nathan’s museum is not open to the public, so make sure to take advantage of this rare glimpse into the beautiful world of New York City’s best garbage.
