The Story Of A Quadruple Amputee And His True Love

The brave men and women who defend our country have their courage put to the test every single day. They go through intense training to prepare them for harsh conditions, spend months away from their loved ones while serving overseas, and have to adjust to life back home, along with any injuries they’ve sustained, once their duty is done. Few soldiers exemplify this struggle better than Taylor Morris.

Taylor Morris grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa with dreams of being a part of Special Operations in the U.S. Navy. He joined after graduating high school and eventually found his place in EOD, or Explosive Ordinance Disposal. You know in action movies when the hero disarms a bomb by cutting the blue wire instead of the red wire? Well, Taylor’s job is about 1000 times more complicated than that. He dealt with bombs for a living, a job that carries a high risk of injury. Those who work as EOD techs have to be willing to make the sacrifice that comes with their job. Unfortunately for Taylor, that sacrifice came a lot sooner than he, or his loved ones, were expecting.

The 23-year-old soldier injured all four of his limbs, resulting in the amputation of both legs, his right hand, and most of his left arm. Returning home like this would crush even the strongest of spirits, but Taylor endured like a true warrior. The following video traces his journey over the period of a few months, capturing every inspiring moment along the way. Today, Taylor stands as a symbol of optimism in the face of pain and destruction. If you’d like to learn more about his story or donate to his charity, you can visit his website by clicking here.
