Shadow puppets are an iconic image from many of our childhoods. You’d be at a sleepover or huddled around a campfire when one of your friends moved their hands in front of the light, transforming the shadows into something more. Back then, the shadow figures didn’t get too complex, but when explored further you’ll discover that shadow art is full of possibility.
Shadow art has so much potential because it doesn’t require any expensive tools or materials. To get started, all you need are a few household objects and a light source. Youtuber Sana Anil Kumar demonstrates the level of detail that can be achieved using the shadows from simple items. Kumar’s shadow art asks us to look at the things around us in a whole new light.
