We all know that dogs are man’s best friend. But did you know that birds are dog’s best friend? Don’t believe me? Well then prepare to be amazed as you watch Spike the Umbrella Cockatoo feed his two best buddies some Milk-Bones, by fishing them right out of the box and throwing them onto the floor, where the two grateful Great Danes eagerly wait for their treats. I suspect it’s payment for protection from the family cat. (Source: rrry1950) These three partners in crime are just too adorable. I wonder if I can teach a bird to feed me cookies the same way? Roto-a-Matic is a collaboration between Chicago-based product development specialists Squibbles Ink and designer toy store Rotofugi. Taking on the vintage Mold-a-Rama machine, the new project aims to redesign the molds that make plastic toys in less than one minute. The original Mold-a-Rama machines work by injecting a molten concoction of polyethylene plastic into a mold, hitting it with a blast of air to make the plastic conform to the shape of the mold and then opening up the mold to drop the figure into a bin where customers can retrieve it. The Roto-a-Matic project is making new molds for the machine, asking the artistic community to contribute designs. The first toy is the Helper Dragon designed by sculptor Tim Biskup. Each figure comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity indicating the name of the figure, name of the artist, date of manufacture and color. The Roto-a-Matic is currently operational and available only in one location in Chicago. There’s a tiny island in Japan that is so full of cuteness, if I saw it in person I wouldn’t be able to handle it. It’s known as Rabbit Island, and that is because it’s literally full of nothing but rabbits. (Surprise!) Rabbit Island, a.k.a., Okunoshima, was used as the secret base for the Japanese Imperial Army’s lethal gas operation during World War Two. You wouldn’t even guess it now, though, because the only reason people know this island is for the bunnies. Lots and lots of bunnies. Over 6,000 tons of poison gas were manufactured on this island during the war, but that dark history has been erased by the bunnies. YouTube At some point, rabbits were introduced to this remote island and they took over. Now, there are HUNDREDS of adorable bunnies living there. YouTube To the delight of tourists, you can visit the island and interact with all of the furry residents. YouTube And judging by the video below, the rabbits really like it when tourists visit to feed and pet them. After all, who doesn’t like to be fed treats and cuddled? Experiencing an adorable rabbit stampede is something I need to do before I die. Source: YouTube Why go to a tropical island paradise when you could go to one of the cutest islands on earth, filled with lovable new friends?
