A Bus Driver’s Dash Cam Recorded A Miracle Happening Live

, , , , , , ,

Near-death experiences can be harrowing for both onlookers and the lucky soul who survives. A bus was driving down the street when its dash cam recorded something incredible. Just as it passed a construction site, a crane began to fall…with innocent passers by on the sidewalk. Wait for the 0:26 mark… He was seconds away from a very bad situation. If you live in a major city and have to walk beneath scaffolding and cranes, you might think that the construction causes countless deaths every year (if you are exceptionally paranoid, anyway). However, according to these crane accident statistics, “a world wide total of 86 incidents involving the collapse or major structural failure of a tower crane have been identified as taking place between 1989 and 2009.” But that doesn’t mean this guy wasn’t any less lucky! This Tiny Boat Came Within Inches Of Being Crushed By A Huge Container Ship

Driving a boat is harder than it looks on TV or in the movies. Not only do you have to captain the vehicle, you also need to be paying attention to the radar and the radio so that you don’t crash into any nearby ships. You should be aware of the status of the mechanics, too, lest you stall out on the open sea. Crazy things can happen. When a small speedboat’s engine stalled off the New Jersey coast, the people on board found themselves right in the middle of a shipping lane with a humongous container ship bearing down on them. This is seriously tense. (via Reddit) Those people were literally inches from getting run over. The big man upstairs must have been smiling on them that day. On the coast of the Red Sea lies one of the world’s most infamous scuba locations, and it’s known locally as the Blue Hole. The Blue Hole is an underwater sinkhole that goes down about 96 meters (or 314 feet). It’s a popular spot for free diving, but it’s also earned a reputation as one of the most dangerous locations in the world. Despite regulation by authorities, about two divers per year are defeated by the sinkhole. The most famous death at the hole happened when diving instructor Yuri Lipski got lost back in 2000. Lipski foolishly decided to dive to the bottom of the hole on his own. Wikipedia He managed to reach a depth of 304 feet. However, at this depth, nitrogen narcosis began to impact his mental state, causing him to become disoriented. Wikipedia Once he realized that he would not be able to escape, Lipski removed his oxygen mask and quickly perished. Wikipedia When a diver was sent to retrieve Lipski’s body, they discovered that he had brought a video camera down with him. The camera attached to his helmet ended up recording the entire ordeal — including the moment of his death. The video below is not for the faint of heart. (via Reddit) That poor guy. I can’t even imagine how horrible his final moments must have been. Let this be a reminder to bring a buddy with you when you’re doing anything risky, no matter how skilled you are. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTAT_ATF’); }); Attaching your GoPro camera to your helmet while you do extreme sports is the cool new thing. Getting to check out a first-person perspective of your adventures after the fact is kind of incredible when you think about it. However, these cameras don’t just capture the cool moments. They also capture the downright scary ones. Take, for example, this helmet GoPro footage from off-road cyclist Parker Goodwin. He was riding with a crew of bikers from Mad Dog Cycles when he crashed. His GoPro captured the whole thing, even his body convulsing for a few minutes afterward. Talk about a close call. (source: Parker Goodwin) Luckily, Goodwin survived his face-to-face encounter with the ground. He wasn’t on the trip alone and his fellow riders were able to get him off the trail in time before anything else could happen. Just imagine if he had been riding by himself that day.
