Man Builds Home In 250 Million-Year-Old Cave

In 2007, Angelo Mastropietro, originally of Worcestershire, England, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. The 38-year-old had been living the high life as the head of a successful recruitment company in Australia, but after hearing the diagnosis and struggling with temporary paralysis, he decided to drastically change his life. After all, what’s more fulfilling than refurbishing a 250-million-year-old cave into your dream home? The cave he chose, known as the Rockhouse, is located in Britain’s Wyre Forrest. It is believed that five rooms were carved into the stone 700 years ago, with additional shelves and nooks added somewhere around 300 years ago. Mastropietro spent over $230,000 adding modern conveniences such as Wi-Fi and running water to the cave, but was careful to leave original structures intact. Currently, the Rockhouse Retreat is available to rent for $280 a night, but you better act fast – Mastropietro dreams of living in the cave full-time one day.  Read more: http://www.wimp.com/cave-transformed-home-angelo-mastropietro/

Visitors Are Surprised By A Screaming Marmot

Up until today, I had a positive image of marmots. Sure, they’re oversized rodents, but they’re adorable oversized rodents. Then I saw this video taken by hikers at Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler, British Columbia. Now I have marmot questions. What’s wrong marmot? Is the world really so haunting? Are you actually as adorable as I’ve always thought, or are you waiting in the dark of the woods, ready to jump out with a terrifying scream? Or are you just an adorable little animal trying to make the most out of the tiny squealing teapot sounds that come out of your mouth when you’re scared? Either way we love you little marmot. Just stop screaming. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/adorable-marmot-haunting-scream/

Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall” played on a traditional Korean instrument

Covering a classic rock song is tricky business. If you don’t do anything new with it, then it’ll just sound like amateur hour. If you change it too much, however, then you lose what made people like the song in the first place. This cover of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In The Wall,” played on a traditional Korean gayageum, is the perfect blend of both. Girl Turns Cruel Prank Into The Best Homecoming Ever

Being in high school is no joke these days. I don’t know how or why, but it really seems like growing up has gotten so much tougher in ways that I never really had to consider when I was a kid. Bullying has become such a rampant problem in society and it’s caused so many young people to feel like they aren’t good enough. A few have tragically even been pushed to the point of suicide. I’m not sure what makes kids be so deliberately hurtful to each other, but that’s what happened to Whitney Kropp, a student at Owega High School in West Branch, Michigan. Some of her classmates decided to nominate her for homecoming queen, which she was elated about until she learned the truth – the nomination was a prank by the “popular” kids. The sophomore was utterly dismayed and says she even thought about suicide. Thankfully, when the local community and other students heard about the cruel prank, they banded together to turn the tables on the bullies by legitimately making Whitney the homecoming queen! Local businesses provided a makeover, clothes and even a limo for her big night. They say living well is the best revenge, which Whitney clearly got. 22 Years Ago AT&T Predicted The Future With Startling Accuracy

Science fiction has been imagining the future since its inception, but sometimes the sci-fi dreams of the past become the reality of today. In this AT&T ad from 1993, the telecommunications company made some bold predictions about what life would be like in the future, and the amount they got right might surprise you. Obviously there are differences, for example almost everything you see in this video is now done on our smartphones, but this clip is remarkable for how close to our everyday lives it comes. Check it out and tell us in the comments what innovation they guessed surprised you the most.  Read more: http://www.wimp.com/22-years-ago-att-predicted-the-future/
