Stevie The Cat Climbs A Mountain

Cats are a highly instinctual animal. Although they are domesticated and somewhat dependent on human beings for survival, they still retain their hunting drive, their crafty, stealthy cat-ninja moves and their keen senses. For Stevie the cat, her sharp sense of smell, her good hearing and her sensitive whiskers help make up for the fact that she’s gone blind. She can get around surprisingly well, considering this handicap, and the lively feline is just as active as ever. Stevie’s always liked the outdoors, so of course she wouldn’t pass up the opportunity in this video – an awesome, gorgeous hike up a mountain. We can enjoy the sights on Stevie’s behalf, and they’re stunning. Meanwhile, Stevie got to experience aspects we could never dream of. Who knows what Stevie smelled that day? Or heard? Imagine what the great outdoors must be to a cat. It’s a great reminder that whether animal or human, even huge challenges, like losing your sight, don’t mean you have to just give up. There’s so much to do and experience, whether through sight, sound, smell, taste or touch, that we can all take pleasure in something. Stevie also reminds us that no matter how old we get or what hurdles we face, we just have to get out there and do it. Whatever it is. Because the only time we lose is when we don’t even try. Here’s to you Stevie! Keep climbing those mountains. You inspire us to climb our own mountains each and every day. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/stevie-blind-cat-climbs-mountain/

Four Lanes Of Random Traffic Transform Into Music

Being stuck in traffic is by far one of the more annoying elements of life. But did you know that while you are in your car cursing your fate, you are also making music with the other cars around you. That was the idea of musician and filmmaker Jarbas Agnelli who set out to find the music behind everyday life. “Since everything moves,” Jarbas says “and every moving pattern can be read as numbers or notes, then everything contains music.” In the past, Jarbas created a piece of music using birds perched on electrical wires. So next time you are stuck in your car, you can at least take solace in the fact that you are helping the universe create music. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/turning-traffic-into-music/

Lost Dogs Who Finally Found Their Way Home

Losing a dog can be devastating. Those loveable troublemakers sometimes just can’t help themselves when they find an opportunity to explore or follow a scent, and their instincts overwhelm their minimally present common sense. If you have a dog that just has to follow his nose every once in a while, make sure you’ve taken steps to ensure his safe return. A sturdy collar with tags indicating his medical status and also his name and contact info will let people know how to reach his person when they find him. The collar will also let them know this is someone’s loved pet. But collars aren’t foolproof, so make sure to get your dog microchipped by your veterinarian. This small device placed under your dog’s skin can’t fall off and can be read by any shelter or vet using a special scanner. Read more: http://www.wimp.com/lost-dogs-finally-found-way-home/
