Lisa Frank has colored our worlds with rainbows, hearts and teddy bears since 1979, but rarely do we hear much about the woman behind the magic. But the woman really exists, and her office is just as amazing as you’d imagine it to be — filled with giant puppies, waving mascots and, of course, rainbows galore. A crew of filmmakers stepped inside the Lisa Frank headquarters in Tucson, Ariz. to interview the founder herself. The video, shown above, is part of Lisa Frank’s recent partnership with Urban Outfitters. Frank requested to remain visibly out of the frame, in the interest of privacy. In the interview, Frank reveals tidbits about her childhood that should come as no surprise to fans, like her fondness for coloring books. Perhaps the most unexpected moment in the video is when Frank very openly admits “I’m a lunatic.” “We have to stop me and say, ‘Okay, it’s enough,’” says Frank about the hundreds of hours put into one illustration. Lisa Frank responded to the concerns on Facebook, saying that the price was appropriate because “these items are very limited and rare. Around the world, people still do horrible things to animals all in the name of “medicine.” Whether it’s killing rhinos for their horns or using rattlesnakes and their venom, the practices are disturbing, especially when you consider the lack of scientific evidence to support the old-world beliefs. But perhaps one of the meanest and cruelest practices is illegally keeping bears in cages to harvest their bile. Stuck inside cages smaller than your closet for years at a time, the beautiful beasts suffer countless health issues, some that will one day even kill them. That’s why rescue workers search out these bear bile farms year-round in an effort to save the animals’ lives and move them somewhere safe. This is the reality of far too many bears around the world. Ever since a doctor was dragged off a United Airlines flight earlier this month, more and more incidents involving airlines and passengers have been reported in the news. Just last Friday, people witnessed an American Airlines flight attendant daring a passenger to hit him when the two got into a heated argument. What you may not know, however, is that just before this incident, the employee allegedly ripped a stroller out of a woman’s hands because it was too big for the flight she was boarding. He reportedly struck her in the process and nearly hit her baby as well. Although the interaction between the flight attendant and the mom in question wasn’t recorded, you can clearly see how distressed she was afterward in this footage.
