Rush Hour In Tokyo Is Something You Truly Have To See To Believe

, , , , , , , , , , ,

One of the absolute worst parts about driving or taking public transportation is getting caught in rush hour. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve almost lost it after getting stuck in slow-moving traffic. However, I’m well-aware that it could get much, much worse in different places — especially Japan. Referring to Tokyo subway passengers as sardines wouldn’t be any stretch of the imagination, because they pack themselves so tightly in the trains that the doors sometimes won’t even close. This would be a nightmare for anyone with claustrophobia. Read More: This Is How They Get Everyone On The Subway In Japan…And It’s Crazy Well, that definitely puts things in perspective. I’m going to think twice before I ever complain about traffic again! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/tokyo-rush-hour/

He Put Coke Cans On A Table And Pushed Them, But One Didn’t Budge — Here’s Why

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); As an artist myself, I’ve received quite a bit of flack from fellow artists because I tend to work in a more realistic style. And that’s nice and annoying, because it’s hard to do. The criticism stems from the fact that this approach apparently isn’t creative enough (to which I say SHOVE IT). My personal pettiness aside, however, I guess I can see where they’re coming from. For that reason, I want to introduce nay-sayers to an artist by the name of Howard Lee. He works in a hyperrealistic style, and I dare anyone to tell me that his creations aren’t…well…creative. I mean, look at this. It’s fun, amazing, and way better than anything most of us could ever pull off. YouTube / Howard Lee googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCBM_BTF’); }); Satisfying, isn’t it? YouTube / Howard Lee There’s only one real piece of candy in this pile. Just let that sink in. YouTube / Howard Lee googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCI1_BTF’); }); But watching him work is where things get really dumbfounding. Check out the process he used to draw that bafflingly realistic Coke can and bask in his artistic glory. The hot dog video is making me so jealous. So, so jealous. Why not keep this attack on my self-confidence going? To learn more about Howard Lee, be sure to check him out on YouTube! If you need me, I’ll be busy feeling bad about myself. He Picked Every Topping Possible And Built The Biggest McDonald’s Burger…Ever

, , , , , , , , , , ,

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTAT_ATF’); }); Someone actually did it…and he’s a hero for it. Moshe Tamssot, a Chicago resident, was poking around on McDonald’s latest advancement in fast food technology — the ‘Create Your Taste’ kiosk — when he discovered he could add a whooping 10 pieces of bacon to his hamburger! Wanting to know just how far he could take the build-a-burger kiosk, he decided to add 10 pieces of every topping available to his “Big Max” burger. But the biggest surprise came when the cashier first tried to ring up the order and the total read $890.80. The confused server decided to check with a manager before realizing that due to a pricing bug, the system had added hundreds of dollars for the different types of cheeses he’d selected. The final total for the Big Max? Just $24.89, which could be the deal of the century when you consider this monstrosity — that had to be carried on two trays, by the way. Wait’ll you see how much it weighed… For those wondering, this tower of beef, cheese, bacon, pickles, salad ingredients, and sauce contained 10 slices of American cheese, 10 slices of sharp white cheddar cheese, 10 slices of pepper jack cheese, 10 pieces of bacon, 10x pickles, 10x red onions, 10x guacamole, 10x tortilla strips, 10x lettuce, 10x tomatoes, 10x jalapeños, 10x grilled onions, 10x grilled mushrooms, 10x mac special sauce, 10x mayo, 5x spicy mayo, 10x sweet BBQ sauce, 10x creamy garlic sauce, 10x mustard, and of course…10x ketchup. Can’t forget about the ketchup! But best of all is the large Diet Coke he added to his order at the end. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/big-max-burger/

An NYU Student Shot This Terrifying Video Of The 9/11 Attacks From Their Dorm

, , , , , , , ,

It’s been nearly 15 years since the World Trade Center towers were attacked by terrorists. The events of September 11, 2001, were horrifyingly tragic. When the towers fell and innocent people were killed, it changed the lives of countless people both in the United States and abroad. The attacks created a moment in time that can never be forgotten. Most U.S. citizens, no matter their age, can distinctly remember what they were doing when the planes hit the towers. Many people were at work, school, or just getting ready to leave for the day. The NYU student that filmed this video will certainly never forget exactly what happened. Watching the violence and chaos on television was traumatizing enough, but imagine being a young student in the city, close enough to clearly see the towers. In the video, you can hear their frightened reactions and panicked calls home. This is a perspective that not many people have seen of the 9/11 attacks. The video that Caroline filmed may be hard to watch. Many remember only the news reports, but this video gives more weight to the terrible tragedy. (via KISS 107) The people that lost their lives that day will never be forgotten, and this rare perspective of the terrorist attacks reminds us to more fiercely honor their memories. Years may desensitize people to what really happened, but this video shows us the horror and truth of that fateful day. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/dorm-room-911-video/

This Tribe Digs Up Its Dead And Gives Them Makeovers Before Living With Them

, , , , , , , , , ,

Every culture has their own sacred death rituals, but some are far more frightening than others. Take the Torajan people, for example. On the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, dead bodies are seen very differently than they are in the States. Corpses aren’t actually considered to be dead until a water buffalo is sacrificed to accompany them into the afterlife. It takes years for some families to be able to afford the expensive ceremony, so many keep their loved ones inside their homes until they can. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCBP_ATF’); }); But even after their deceased relatives are properly buried, some families decide to keep their memory alive by digging the bodies up in a bizarre celebration. The residents of Toraja proudly display the dead as part of their Ma’nene ritual. Every year, the villagers dig up their late family members in order to honor them. YouTube / National Geographic googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCBM_BTF’); }); The decaying bodies don’t spook them at all — they prefer to see them so they can mourn. YouTube / National Geographic They carefully clean their ancestors to preserve their dignity. YouTube / National Geographic googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCI1_BTF’); }); Then the corpses are actually groomed and dressed up. YouTube / National Geographic And the families even pose with them for photos as if they were still alive. YouTube / National Geographic Though they are undeniably creepy, some of the bodies have pleasant looks on their faces like they approve of the ritual. YouTube / Mo10ta But others are just terrifying. YouTube / Mo10ta These people see all of this as a beautiful process, but it’s more than a little disturbing. Would you ever consider going to a celebration like this? Me neither. I’m all for expressing your culture, but this is way, way too morbid for me. It might look just like a ball of dough that was caught on fire, but it’s actually a shell surrounding typical pizza toppings. After it’s lit on fire, the heat cooks the pizza toppings and melts the cheeses. You can eat it plain, or you can use any of the dipping sauces The Place provides. It might be worth traveling around the world just to eat this pizza. LOOK AT IT. Watch them serve up The Bomb…it’s totally hypnotizing.
