googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); Hero is normally a very quiet dog, so when he started whining incessantly one day, his owner knew something was very wrong. Four-year-old Sadie has type one diabetes and Down syndrome, which makes it quite difficult for her parents to monitor the little girl’s blood sugar levels. That’s where Hero comes in. The service dog has been specially trained to detect decreases in blood sugar. While many dogs have been trained to help diabetics in the same way, what Hero did one day is almost beyond comprehension. Little Sadie was at school five miles away from her home when Hero suddenly started whining to no end. Knowing something was wrong, her mom decided to call the school and ask them to check Sadie’s blood sugar. Everything looked fine at first, but within a half hour, it had dropped from 122 to 82. Hero somehow sensed what was wrong from miles away! Hero thoroughly deserves his name. If Sadie’s blood sugar had dropped any lower, she could have slipped into a diabetic coma. Service animals are so incredible at what they do, and their dedication is absolutely unmatched. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/blood-sugar-dog/
I wish this was the last time I had to cover a puppy mill rescue, but I know it won’t be. Despite the widespread knowledge of the cruelty animals experience in puppy mills, the ASPCA still estimates that there are as many as 10,000 of these establishments all over the U.S. People who purchase animals from pet stores are all but handing their money over to unlicensed, horrible puppy mills. ViralNova No matter how adorable they look, odds are, the dogs came from an irresponsible “breeder” who cared very little about their well-being. This is what a puppy mill really looks like. YouTube / Animal Rescue Corps When the amazing people at Animal Rescue Corps got to the scene of this particular home in Morgan County, TN, they named the rescue Operation Dire Straits. It turns out that you and I aren’t the only ones who love belting out our favorite tunes as we drive down the highway. Whenever this adorable bulldog hears “You Raise Me Up” playing in the car, he just can’t help but sing right alongside Josh Groban. His human friends do a good job…but this pup has the performance down pat! That bulldog is going to be a star. He’s adorable, has a great howl, and is great with fans — the perfect combo to become a star! No one knows how long this elderly dog had been stuck in a sewage gutter before a kind soul fished him out. Sadly, though, that wasn’t the end of his hardship. The poor boy suffered a severe gash on his hindquarters and was in so much pain that he couldn’t stand. If the amazing people from Animal Aid Unlimited hadn’t come to rescue him, there’s no telling if he would have ever moved from where he was left. I was cheering in my seat when he was lifted up and stood on his own for the first time! If you don’t know about all the wonderful work Animal Aid Unlimited is doing for strays in India, find out here. And please consider donating to their cause here. Bringing a new kitten to your home can be a harrowing experience. But bringing a kitten to the same home as a giant, tough-looking guard dog? I didn’t think it could be so adorable! Rover is apparently as big a pushover for cute cat videos as I am. These two are just TOO cute! Read more: http://viralnova.com/dog-meets-kitten/
Well, today’s the day. According to early exit polls, 85 percent of voters “just want it to be over.” Who can blame them? This election season hasn’t exactly been fun for anyone. The media says that Americans are more divided than ever. In the last few months of debates and campaigning, that has seemed to be true. It feels like no one can find anything to agree on…but deep down, is one side of the aisle really that different from the other? Recently, Pedigree sent a “lost dog” into Trump and Clinton rallies. Would Republicans and Democrats put aside their differences for the love of pets? I think we can all agree on one thing… Read More: Awesome Mom Calls Live Television Show To Give Her Sons A Talking-To I completely agree with the woman who says, “Things like this give us hope that we can all find common ground.” For the love of dogs, let’s keep this sentiment in mind, no matter what the polls say tonight. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTAT_ATF’); }); A dog named Ruger recently showed up at Vet Ranch suffering from something that broke the doctors’ hearts. Dr. Matt Carriker, a veterinarian from Texas, was so stunned when the poor pup entered his office with extreme chemical burns. He was found by a rescue organization as a stray, and when he entered the office for some much-needed care, people could not believe that someone could do something so awful to a dog. Watch his incredible recovery in the video below. Thank goodness these Good Samaritans were able to save him. Without their care, Ruger probably would’ve died scared and alone. Now he has a new lease on life! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/chemical-burn-dog/
There’s nothing more enjoyable than a county fair or carnival. It just amazes me how they can fit so much food and festivities into one place. Most carnivals even allow pets to walk around the fair grounds, so that your fur babies can partake in all that sweet, sweet fun. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DCBP_ATF’); }); And boy do they soak it all up. This four-legged friend was recorded living his best life while taking a trip (or three) down a gigantic carnival slide. Lucky for this pooch, it was a slow day and he could continuously scramble up the stairs to the top and slide down, getting the greatest amount of joy without having to worry about long lines. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about anything as much as this dog is. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/doggy-slide/
The mother of these stray puppies left them one day in search of food. Unfortunately for the pups, she never returned. The tiny pooches had to scavenge for food and try to survive on their own. Luckily, someone from the neighborhood stepped in and fed them for a few weeks and then called the good people at Hope For Paws. When they arrived to rescue the little guys, the puppies were harder to catch than anyone could have expected. What a happy ending! And what a difference a bath and a warm bed made in their disposition. Hopefully someone will adopt them and give them all a good home. Until then, they are clearly in good hands! Living in total misery, two young pit bulls named Lois and Clark lived under a truck until fairly recently. Starving and in desperate need of medical attention, they weren’t going to last much longer in that state. That’s when a few volunteers from Hope for Paws heard about their situation and decided that enough was enough. They struggled a bit at first, but after some coaxing, they were able to wrangle the terrified pups. When they started warming up to rescuers, the adorable pair revealed that they were actually big softies. Lois and Clark are now looking for a forever home, and the folks at Hope for Paws really want to find a family that will let them stay together. If you’d like to help them, please consider sharing their story and directing people in the Los Angeles area to the shelter. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/homeless-pit-bulls/
