Devin Super Tramp and his team of thrill-seekers have a strong track record for turning childhood pastimes into extreme adventures, and this time they’re tackling the piñata. So instead of whacking the candy-filled papier-mâché sculptures with a plastic bat, the team decided to use objects like swords and kayak paddles. Oh, and they rigged the whole thing up to a zip line. Even droids know the Force is with vaccination Just in: Another hilarious set of news bloopers Hozier covering Ariana Grande is not a ‘Problem’ The Mitt Romney trilogy that never was Read more: http://mashable.com/2015/01/14/extreme-pinata/
The truth is, sharks have very little interest in being seen by humans, but one in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, couldn’t help but enjoy a close-up. A father and his daughter were testing out their new GoPro at Papamoa Beach, when suddenly a shark came dangerously close, swimming right next to them. (via Daily Mail) According to the comments on YouTube, the man filming was actually even hit by the shark! I know GoPro’s slogan is “Be a Hero,” but this might be too much to ask of the poor guy on his first day of owning one. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/shark-gopro/
A YouTuber that goes by Kelly Murphy recently uploaded a GoPro video of herself snowboarding. Filming yourself doing such a thing may not be odd, but what she captured in the background will certainly give you chills. She was getting ready to head down a mountain (complete with adorable singing) when she accidentally filmed a bear getting ready to attack. Her video description was: OMG! I was going through my snowboarding videos and I found a bear chasing me!!! I nearly got eaten!!! This was at Hakuba 47 in Japan, filmed yesterday! Be careful people!!! Annnnd this is what can happen out in nature. Many online are claiming the video is fake (which is entirely possible). Even if this video is the result of clever editing and CGI, news outlets are picking it up. “Kelly’s” YouTube channel only has three videos (and all are of this snowboarding adventure). Odds are, the video is fake. However, it looks real enough to be a reminder of one thing: nature is scary. If you’re out by yourself hiking, snowboarding, or looking for the Blair Witch, make sure to take your cell phone and self-defense tools! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/snowboarding-bear-attack/
Hooking a GoPro camera to a quadcopter “drone” is all the rage in aerial filmography these days, and this video shows you why. GoPro gives some amazing new perspectives of things that you wouldn’t want to capture from a helicopter. Watch as one man sends his drone through a fireworks show, capturing some stunning footage, all set to the sound of Andrea Bocelli beautifully singing “Con Te Partiro”. From now on this should be the ONLY way that people film or take pictures of fireworks. Forget your camera phones people, I want birds eye view! googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTAT_ATF’); }); Attaching your GoPro camera to your helmet while you do extreme sports is the cool new thing. Getting to check out a first-person perspective of your adventures after the fact is kind of incredible when you think about it. However, these cameras don’t just capture the cool moments. They also capture the downright scary ones. Take, for example, this helmet GoPro footage from off-road cyclist Parker Goodwin. He was riding with a crew of bikers from Mad Dog Cycles when he crashed. His GoPro captured the whole thing, even his body convulsing for a few minutes afterward. Talk about a close call. (source: Parker Goodwin) Luckily, Goodwin survived his face-to-face encounter with the ground. He wasn’t on the trip alone and his fellow riders were able to get him off the trail in time before anything else could happen. Just imagine if he had been riding by himself that day.
