A Brave Shark Steals A Fish From An Excited Fisherman… D’oh!

It was just a routine kayak fishing adventure for Isaac Brumaghim, until the craziest thing happened to the Hawaiian local. This was going to be a fishing trip he’d never forget. After reeling in a catch, he was surprised by a visitor… one with a fin and lots of sharp teeth. A shark jumped right out of the water behind him and snatched his catch right off the hook. Understandably, he was quite shaken after the incident and couldn’t do much more than laugh nervously as the adrenalin rushed through his system. (Source: Isaac Brumaghim) At the end there he had the same fear wiggle I get coming up the last few steps from a dark basement. I understand your pain Isaac. It Looks Like This Shark Is Just Chilling…But Then It Gets STUCK IN THEIR CAGE

When scientists and divers descend into the ocean in cages, their philosophy is simple: you don’t mess with us, we don’t mess with you. Usually, sharks and other sea creatures go on about their business like the divers aren’t even there. This up close and personal view of the ocean has taught researchers a great deal about marine life. This female great white shark, however, was a little more curious than her friends. Disoriented by bubbles, she manages to get stuck in a cage containing three divers. Peter Maguire, the diver who captured the terrifying footage, explained what happened next: The captain and crew decide to tie a rope around the shark’s tail and lower the cage, essentially holding the shark in place and popping the shark out! The shark swims away. Luckily, no one was hurt, including the shark. If it wasn’t for the training and quick thinking of the crew, this could have ended a lot differently. As I talked with the other divers we all had the same thought. Even though the event was scary, it mainly made us all sad. Here we were, a bunch of strangers on a boat, thousands of miles away from home to see our favorite animal on Earth, and to see it distressed was absolutely horrible. I can only hope that we can learn from this video and improve on great white shark diving best practices and improve on cage construction. While Filming His Daughter Underwater, This Father Noticed Something Disturbing

The truth is, sharks have very little interest in being seen by humans, but one in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, couldn’t help but enjoy a close-up. A father and his daughter were testing out their new GoPro at Papamoa Beach, when suddenly a shark came dangerously close, swimming right next to them. (via Daily Mail) According to the comments on YouTube, the man filming was actually even hit by the shark! I know GoPro’s slogan is “Be a Hero,” but this might be too much to ask of the poor guy on his first day of owning one. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/shark-gopro/
