Turn Your Instagram Pics Into Chocolate Bars

, , , , , ,

Cocoagraphs are artisan chocolate bars printed with edible Polaroid-style photographs. Calling to mind nostalgia for years past, these charming confections are completely custom, printed with any photograph, logo or image of your choosing. With each cocoagraph handmade to order, all users have to do is upload a photo and choose the ingredients from milk, white, dark or organic dark chocolate. Best of all, Instagram and Hipstamatic photos are particularly well-suited to the square chocolate bars, making them instant gift or souvenir for any occasion. Using ethical sourcing and manufacturing practices to ensure superior flavor and quality, this family-operated company seem to have found the perfect balance between food and technology. Watch a video explaining the process below. This article originally published at PSFK here Read more: http://mashable.com/2012/07/20/cocoagraphs/

White House to Host Exclusive Garden Tour for Select Instagram Users

, , , , , ,

As the White House opens its gardens and grounds to the public for fall tours, some Instagram users will get an exclusive visit this weekend. Selected Instagrammers will have the chance on Sunday to tour the grounds and track their excursion on social media, the White House announced Monday. The tour is intended specifically for the White House’s Instagram followers. To apply for a spot in the meet-up, applicants must follow either @WhiteHouse or @MichelleObama on Instagram and fill out a short form on the White House’s website. Those chosen or put on the wait list will be emailed by Wednesday. In the meantime, applicants are encouraged to post their favorite nature and garden photos on Instagram with the hashtag #WHInstaMeet. The same hashtag will be used on the day of the tour, so all Instagram users can virtually follow along. So far, more than 400 photos have been tagged on Instagram with #WHInstaMeet. While the spots in Sunday’s White House Instagram tour are available through application only, the garden is free and open to the public during its fall tour season. Visitors must have tickets, which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Polo Ralph Lauren Goes Camping on Instagram

, , , , , , , , , , ,

These days, it’s not just print and television that secure dedicated campaigns — Instagram and Vine are getting them, too. Earlier this week, Polo Ralph Lauren began rolling out a series of nine 15-second videos on Instagram as part of its “Polo Ralph Lauren Survival Guide.” As of Sunday, seven of the videos have rolled out, demonstrating, for example, how to pitch a tent (see below), how to start a fire and how to chill and uncork a bottle of champagne. The videos aren’t practical guides, of course. Rather, they provide a backdrop to Polo Ralph Lauren’s cable-knit sweaters, down jackets and leather boots. A company spokesperson said they’re designed “to capture the essence of the new Polo collections — the Explorer’s Club and Country Gentleman,” collections that are both “rugged yet wearable.” The entire campaign was shot and edited on an iPhone, according to the company. And judging by the image, below, it had an impressive iPhone rig to work with. Although Ralph Lauren denied any connection, the videos remind us of Lowe’s wildly popular Fix in Six Vine campaign, which offers a series of home-improvement tips in six-second videos. (The campaign recently won Mashable‘s Best in Show award at The Mashies.) Image: Polo Ralph Lauren Read more: http://mashable.com/2013/10/13/polo-ralph-lauren-instagram/

Watercolor Artist Brings the Wonders of Space to the Canvas

, , , , ,

One painter’s watercolor works brings out the wonders of space in the safety of her studio. Connecticut-based artist Stella Maria Baer’s dreamy planet paintings have earned her more than 100,000 followers on Instagram. Her neat, but detailed watercolors capture the moon’s rough texture, Mars’ soft oranges and maroons and Saturn’s wide rings. Baer told Mashable that her planet watercolors draw inspiration from April’s Blood Moon eclipse. More of her planetary art is available on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter.
