Last year, the heartwarming story of 11-year-old Bella Burton and her Great Dane service dog, George, took the world by storm. Because Burton suffers from a progressive disease known as Morquio Syndrome, doctors thought she’d spend the rest of her life clinging to crutches. Then she met her helpful, gentle giant at The Service Dog Project. Recently, the little sweetheart decided she wanted to say “thank you” to George. With the help of BarkBox, they gave him the best day a dog could imagine, complete with treats and pampering! What a wonderful friendship these two share. Everyone involved in making George’s day so special deserves a “thank you” day of their own. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/thanks-george/

Teen Runner Stopped To Help an Injured Competitor. And Then She Carried Her.

Winning or losing doesn’t matter when it comes to some athletes. What matters is the well-being of those in need. North Dakota teen Melanie Bailey was faced with a tough choice in her final high school cross-country meet. While passing the two-mile mark of the 2.4 mile course, she noticed that the runner ahead of her, fellow senior Danielle Lenoue, was in a great deal of pain. Lenoue was limping and crying, lagging behind in the race. Bailey stopped and offered help, and though the other runner kept telling her to “go on,” Bailey refused and offered her help. When that didn’t do much to relieve the poor girl’s pain, Bailey took the girl onto her back and carried her a quarter mile to receive medical attention. (Source: Tricia Kelley) She may not have won the race, but she won what really mattered: being a good caring person. Read more: http://viralnova.com/runner-helps-competitor/

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTAT_ATF’); }); Matt McDougall is a Canadian duck farmer who films the exploits of his group of waterfowl friends for his YouTube channel, 50 Ducks In A Hot Tub. As you might expect, McDougall is very attached to all of his birds. But one duck in particular, Mrs. Gimp, has become both his and his viewers’ favorite due to her friendly personality. One day, McDougall got a huge shock when he spotted what he feared was a dead duck floating in the bathtub the ducks like to play around in. He ran outside to find that it was Mrs. Gimp. He quickly realized she was suffering from hypothermia so he rushed her inside. There he repeatedly submerged her in tubs of warm water to get her body temperature back to normal… It’s wonderful to see people really go the extra mile for an animal in need. Bravo to this wonderful man and the dedication he put into reviving his feathery friend. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/duck-hypothermia/
