googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTAT_ATF’); }); Matt McDougall is a Canadian duck farmer who films the exploits of his group of waterfowl friends for his YouTube channel, 50 Ducks In A Hot Tub. As you might expect, McDougall is very attached to all of his birds. But one duck in particular, Mrs. Gimp, has become both his and his viewers’ favorite due to her friendly personality. One day, McDougall got a huge shock when he spotted what he feared was a dead duck floating in the bathtub the ducks like to play around in. He ran outside to find that it was Mrs. Gimp. He quickly realized she was suffering from hypothermia so he rushed her inside. There he repeatedly submerged her in tubs of warm water to get her body temperature back to normal… It’s wonderful to see people really go the extra mile for an animal in need. Bravo to this wonderful man and the dedication he put into reviving his feathery friend. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/duck-hypothermia/

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); Firefighter Sean Sweat was bringing his truck back to the fire station when he saw something on the side of the road that shocked him. In the mud, he spotted a distressed kitten. But what sent chills down his spine were the visible road burns on the frightened cat, which let him know that the animal had been thrown from someone’s vehicle. The kitty was wet, covered in mud, and in need of some serious love. Sweat took the poor baby back to the fire station to clean her up and assess her wounds. After spending the night comforting the kitten at the station, he took her to the SPCA. Thanks to the observant and kindhearted firefighter, the kitten — fittingly named Trouble — is getting a second chance at life. As an animal lover, I can’t imagine how someone could ever do such a thing. It actually hurts my heart just thinking about it. Thank heavens for people who go above and beyond to help those in need. A family was out walking one day when they came across a momma duck with just one baby. Thinking it odd to see a solo duckling, they began looking for more babies…but they were nowhere to be found! That is until they heard desperate cries for help coming from a nearby drain pipe. Down in the depths staring back up at them were multiple ducklings trapped and clinging to life. They knew they had to help, but there was just one problem…no one had skinny enough arms to reach the little guys. That was when they got some help, calling a friend’s daughter to the scene to save the day. (via LittleThings) Thanks to six-year-old Mia, all but one of the ducklings were saved. They’ll get the chance to live full and happy lives. What a wonderful little hero! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/saving-ducklings-rescue/
Firefighters are used to rescuing scared cats from tall trees, but what about dogs? When the Plattsmouth Fire Department in Nebraska got a call one night about a 120-pound dog stuck 20 feet up in a tree, they thought for sure it was a prank. They were a little bit shocked when they turned up at the scene to find Kora, a Great Dane, sitting high up in a tree, looking down at them with her big, bright eyes. After a bit of brainstorming, the team of firefighters were finally able to lower Kora from the tree using a rope, a ladder, and a police dog harness. Several feet from the ground, Kora’s weight snapped her restraints, but a few brave volunteers were there to catch her with a big tarp. Although she was a little cold after all that time in the tree, Kora wasn’t hurt and was happy to be down, running straight for the house once she was on solid ground. Hopefully, she’ll leave tree climbing to cats from now on. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/stuck-in-tree/
A team of firefighters in Auckland, New Zealand, banded together to help a distraught mother duck after her ducklings fell down a storm drain. The team of heroes formed an assembly line to pull the tiny babies out while the notably anxious mom duck watched. The moment the chirping cuties are reunited with their mother is one that will put a huge smile on your face. I’m so glad someone took the time to get a closer look at that drain once they heard the quacks coming from it. It’s people like these fine firefighters that make the world a better place. I’m sure this momma duck will be forever grateful for their kindness. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/ducklings/
Helping those who can’t help themselves is an incredible calling. Annie Hart is well known dog lover and the executive director of The Bill Foundation. She makes it her life goal to rescue animals that suffer abuse or neglect and to find homes for the pitiful animals that are left to die on the streets. Her YouTube channel is full of heartwarming animal rescues, but none so touching as the incredible rescue she just pulled off in December of last year. The dog she found was in such bad shape, it was clear he had been on the streets a long time. She named him Gideon… then saved his life. (Video at the bottom) Gideon was found with deep lacerations around his neck. The Bill Foundation He was emaciated and it seemed that he had been living on the streets for a long time. The Bill Foundation It was clear that he was extremely sick. Annie believe he is one of the sickest dogs she ever rescued. The Bill Foundation It’s uncertain whether or not Gideon’s former owners were physically abusive, but Annie thought it was obvious that he suffered neglect and deep emotional abuse. The Bill Foundation Even though the dog knew he needed help and was terribly ill, he had a hard time trusting his rescuers. The Bill Foundation He was literally trembling with fear at the sight of people. The Bill Foundation Then, something amazing happened. Watch the video to see how all of this unfolded. Not only did Gideon’s body began to heal, but his spirit did as well. Instead of quaking in fear when he saw humans, he began to realize they could be a source of love and comfort. The love and hope within him blossomed, shining through. The Animal Wellness Foundation generously paid for Gideon’s medical care, which was more than $4,000. Please support them and help them rescue the pups they come across like Gideon, by visiting their Donation page and giving what you can. The Animal Wellness Foundation is also fostering Gideon and in charge of finding him a forever home. If you’re interested in applying to adopt Gideon or any of the other wonderful animals they have rescued, please visit their site. At the very least, please help spread the word about these wonderful miracle workers by sharing this amazing video. Annie saved Gideon’s life. Help save the lives of other dogs and click Share below! Living in total misery, two young pit bulls named Lois and Clark lived under a truck until fairly recently. Starving and in desperate need of medical attention, they weren’t going to last much longer in that state. That’s when a few volunteers from Hope for Paws heard about their situation and decided that enough was enough. They struggled a bit at first, but after some coaxing, they were able to wrangle the terrified pups. When they started warming up to rescuers, the adorable pair revealed that they were actually big softies. Lois and Clark are now looking for a forever home, and the folks at Hope for Paws really want to find a family that will let them stay together. If you’d like to help them, please consider sharing their story and directing people in the Los Angeles area to the shelter. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/homeless-pit-bulls/
