Trying to survive on the streets is rough enough for stray or abandoned dogs, but just imagine doing so while not being able to see, hear, or move around with ease. This is what one unfortunate pup had been dealing with for who knows how long when people found him on the side of a Florida road where he’d almost been hit. The poor thing’s fur was severely matted and he clearly needed help. They couldn’t keep him for the night, so they posted a photo of him on Facebook instead, pleading for anyone who could take care of the pup. That’s where Kari Falla came in and asked them to bring the dog to her business, BGEGrooming. “I could tell he’d been that way for a few years from the pictures. You could tell it was extreme neglect,” Falla said. “I knew it was bad, but nothing prepared me for what I saw. It smelled like death and the dog could not walk. They had to carry it.” YouTube / Inside Edition Falla opened her shop for the emergency and started working on the pup around midnight. It took her about three hours to bathe and shave him. YouTube / Inside Edition Once finished, he was unrecognizable — and very happy! Later on, Falla found out he was also deaf and blind. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTAT_ATF’); }); Someone actually did it…and he’s a hero for it. Moshe Tamssot, a Chicago resident, was poking around on McDonald’s latest advancement in fast food technology — the ‘Create Your Taste’ kiosk — when he discovered he could add a whooping 10 pieces of bacon to his hamburger! Wanting to know just how far he could take the build-a-burger kiosk, he decided to add 10 pieces of every topping available to his “Big Max” burger. But the biggest surprise came when the cashier first tried to ring up the order and the total read $890.80. The confused server decided to check with a manager before realizing that due to a pricing bug, the system had added hundreds of dollars for the different types of cheeses he’d selected. The final total for the Big Max? Just $24.89, which could be the deal of the century when you consider this monstrosity — that had to be carried on two trays, by the way. Wait’ll you see how much it weighed… For those wondering, this tower of beef, cheese, bacon, pickles, salad ingredients, and sauce contained 10 slices of American cheese, 10 slices of sharp white cheddar cheese, 10 slices of pepper jack cheese, 10 pieces of bacon, 10x pickles, 10x red onions, 10x guacamole, 10x tortilla strips, 10x lettuce, 10x tomatoes, 10x jalapeños, 10x grilled onions, 10x grilled mushrooms, 10x mac special sauce, 10x mayo, 5x spicy mayo, 10x sweet BBQ sauce, 10x creamy garlic sauce, 10x mustard, and of course…10x ketchup. Can’t forget about the ketchup! But best of all is the large Diet Coke he added to his order at the end. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/big-max-burger/
The Inebriator is a cocktail machine that mixes your drink in seconds. With this Arduino-powered robot bartender, all you have to do is grab a glass, fill it with ice, select your desired drink, give it a little stir and enjoy. The makers of the cocktail-making robot describe the inspiration behind the project: Most parties we have been to there is a good selection of spirits and mixers, but no one has the inclination to make cocktails. This project is designed to make it as simple as feasibly possible to get perfect cocktails every time without the hassle of looking up ingredients or measuring spirits and mixers. The Inebriator features a Hitachi HD44780 compatible display that displays drink information, navigation buttons, a stepper motor to drive the drink shelf and a cluster of LEDs to illuminate the glass and mixers. Qualcomm’s Toq smartwatch got the Dick Tracy treatment on Monday with a new feature dubbed “Toq Talk.” Powered by Nuance’s voice-to-text technology, Toq Talk lets owners create and respond to text messages using their voices. Nuance is one of the industry leaders in in speech recognition and natural language processing. It powers Siri on iOS and is embedded in many other systems spanning various industries. Nuance also powers the voice-input on the original Galaxy Gear smartwatch. For now, the feature is restricted to the text messaging app. You’re also limited to nine seconds of speech input — but that should be enough to compose a quick message or send a quick reply. It’s important to remember, however, that Qualcomm isn’t selling the Toq through traditional consumer channels. It’s designed more as a reference point so other manufacturers can see what’s possible in the wearable space, rather than a fully-realized product. It’s not hard to imagine that this sort of technology — especially aligned with some of the cloud-based systems Nuance is investing in — powering a wide array of voice-controlled interfaces for the wearable market. When it comes to the holiday season, everyone has their own beliefs. Sharing them with others is one thing, but what this crazy pastor just did in Amarillo, Texas, totally crossed the line. As kids wait in line to meet Santa Claus at a local mall, this piece of trash extraordinaire tells the camera that he’s going to crush their dreams by informing them that Old Saint Nick isn’t real. I could hardly believe that he’d actually go through with it, but seconds later, he’s shouting like a mad man. At first, parents try to ignore him, but it eventually becomes too much to bear. All things considered, he’s lucky this didn’t end with a swift punch to the face. Like the angry dads who confront him, my blood is boiling! We’d like to take this moment to remind the pastor that Saint Nicholas was indeed a real man who was canonized. Whether or not he performed miracles is a matter of personal opinion, but even the most cynical historians agree that he was generous man who inspired the modern-day version of Santa Claus. Woodworking is a valuable trade, but it doesn’t come without risks. I’m the youngest of three and after my mom’s second boy, she was so determined to have a girl that my parents kept on trying. Back in 2013, this couple had twin baby girls. While very exciting for them, it was an especially important announcement to the rest of their family. You see, all of the relatives of the family had been having boy babies…FOR 54 YEARS. So when Mom and Dad flew for 17 hours to surprise the girls’ grandmother with the two little tykes, you can understand why this is her reaction! For a while, I thought she wasn’t going to let go of those little ones. She just wants to hold and hug them forever. Eventually, grandpa gets a chance though! Congrats to the happy family. A guy named James saw a Facebook post about two deer that were stranded on Albert Lea Lake. It was iced over, so the poor deer couldn’t get their footing and make it to safety. They were there for as long as THREE DAYS before James saw this post. That’s when he and his dad took matters into their own hands. They got their hovercraft ready and headed to the lake. “” A father, son, GoPro camera, hovercraft, and two stranded deer… that’s apparently the recipe for an incredible video. Share this awesome act of kindness with others. And because it included a hovercraft, which is just awesome. Read more: http://viralnova.com/deer-on-icy-lake/
