, , , , , , , , , ,

We all know this saying: “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a night. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat forever.” But as it turns out, the scope of that adage is a bit narrow. That’s because this golden retriever named Rani loves to fish, too! You can see her in action in the video below. She uses bait and everything! Rani has used this method to capture dozens of fish and turtles over the years. There’s something pretty adorable about a self-sufficient pup, am I right? Mindful creatures, aware of many things around them, they can be just as curious about the world as you or I. Which is why this farmer’s cow, named Herbie, is so adorable. Given anything new on the farm, Herbie will often inspect it for hours. One time he played with a new shovel to see what it was and if it could be used as a toy. , , , , , , , , , , ,

Over the last few months, floods have been a deadly, though common, occurrence throughout India. Already killing at least 70 people, they’ve proven deadly to man, and if it weren’t for the courage of one mother dog, several puppies would have perished, too. When floodwaters rose in Chennai, one stray dog got separated from her babies. Watch as she swims through a garbage-infested river in an effort to find and save the pups. Two Helpless Deer Were Trapped On An Icy Lake. What A Father And Son Did Next Is Totally Brilliant.

, , , , , , , ,

A guy named James saw a Facebook post about two deer that were stranded on Albert Lea Lake. It was iced over, so the poor deer couldn’t get their footing and make it to safety. They were there for as long as THREE DAYS before James saw this post. That’s when he and his dad took matters into their own hands. They got their hovercraft ready and headed to the lake. “” A father, son, GoPro camera, hovercraft, and two stranded deer… that’s apparently the recipe for an incredible video. Share this awesome act of kindness with others. And because it included a hovercraft, which is just awesome. Read more: http://viralnova.com/deer-on-icy-lake/

Animal Siblings Bring New Meaning To Fighting Like Cats And Dogs

, , , , , , , , ,

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); Cats and dogs have a bad rap when it comes to not getting along. And while those knock-down, drag-out fights do happen, animal siblings living in the same house have to learn to put up with each other the same way human siblings do. Growing up in my house, hardly a day went by without some sort of sisterly argument over the bathroom or our clothes. If only we could have worked it out like these two! This adorable dog-cat duo takes bickering to the highest level of preciousness, and their pet parent always provides hilarious commentary. Go to your rooms and think about what you’ve done! (And maybe do it again so we can see more videos.) Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/animal-siblings-fight/

When An Injured Homeless Dog Was Rescued, She Had A Surprise For Her Rescuers.

, , , , , , , ,

Hope For Paws got a call about an injured dog living on the streets in a rough part of Los Angeles. The dog rarely came out of her hiding spot, except to look for food late at night, so it took Eldad Hagar and Lisa Chiarrelli a few nights of looking. They were told the dog was pregnant so they wanted to get to her as quickly as possible. After hearing from a neighbor that the dog might be living in some bushes, they went exploring one night. They were able to quickly find her den in one particularly think bush. What they didn’t except to find was that the dog had given birth, and was there with all of her adorable newborn puppies. (Source: Eldad Hagar) What a sweetie Iris is, and her three puppies Seth, Nethaniel and Meg look just the cutest. Hopefully they’ll all find a forever home very soon. These Bovines Act Like Lil’ Puppies After Meeting Their New Herd

, , , , , , , , ,

Integrating cows into the herd is usually a pretty straightforward task — rather unexciting, even. The animals meet and get along instantly because cows love meeting new friends. So when Panda (the black-and-white bovine in the below video) and Jazzy (the smaller brown one) were let loose to introduce themselves to a herd of cows, their owner didn’t think much would happen. But boy, was she wrong! Who knew cows could be this happy, let alone run that fast! YouTube Rescuing farmed animals from potential slaughter, Animal Place provides cows and other creatures with a sanctuary where they can always live free. Which in the case of these happy-go-lucky guys, seems like a pretty great reason to celebrate! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/meeting-cows/

These Fishermen Were Having A Normal Day, Then They Noticed Something In The Water

, , , , , , , ,

Heading out to fish on Woods Lake in Tasmania, Craig Wilson and his stepfather thought it was going to be a nice, relaxing day on the water. That’s when they noticed something in the distance. At first they thought it might be a platypus, a duck-like creature used to swimming. But as they got closer, they realized it was something entirely different…something drowning, and desperately in need of their help. More than 800 feet offshore, the men found a wombat struggling to stay afloat. #ICYMI: Fishermen rescue wombat hundreds of metres offshore in Tasmanian lake https://t.co/RaT1DUerL5 pic.twitter.com/iitqCoP7yG — ABC News (@abcnews) November 30, 2015 “If we weren’t there in the lake he would have drowned for sure, the way the wind was blowing, he would not have been able to make it back to shore,” Mr. Wilson told The Advocate. As the men navigated the boat to fish him out and save his life, the wombat struggled to get free, not knowing his captors meant him no harm. He apparently calmed down when they got him aboard the ship, probably exhausted from his ordeal. (via The Advocate, The Dodo) When he got back to dry land, the men said “he just went on his merry way.” The startled fishermen believed the little guy was likely feeding near the shore when he was accidentally washed out to deeper waters. This little guy clearly has two guardian angels — how lucky! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/drowning-wombat/
