Wildlife officials in many states this summer are raising fish in hatcheries as a way to keep lakes and rivers stocked during tourist angling season. Once they’ve reached a certain level of maturity officials introduce the fish into the wild. So what’s the best way to get those hand raised fish out there to all the rivers and lakes? Well by plane of course. What you’re seeing is a fish airdrop that happens a few times a years in Utah and other states. The drops can include anywhere from a few hundred fish to a few thousand. Check out the full video of the fish “bomb” below. So cool! Alright if anyone asks tell them I’ve gone fishing. We all know this saying: “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a night. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat forever.” But as it turns out, the scope of that adage is a bit narrow. That’s because this golden retriever named Rani loves to fish, too! You can see her in action in the video below. She uses bait and everything! Rani has used this method to capture dozens of fish and turtles over the years. There’s something pretty adorable about a self-sufficient pup, am I right? It was just a routine kayak fishing adventure for Isaac Brumaghim, until the craziest thing happened to the Hawaiian local. This was going to be a fishing trip he’d never forget. After reeling in a catch, he was surprised by a visitor… one with a fin and lots of sharp teeth. A shark jumped right out of the water behind him and snatched his catch right off the hook. Understandably, he was quite shaken after the incident and couldn’t do much more than laugh nervously as the adrenalin rushed through his system. (Source: Isaac Brumaghim) At the end there he had the same fear wiggle I get coming up the last few steps from a dark basement. I understand your pain Isaac. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); If there is one species that Earth’s oceans are abundant with, it’s jellyfish. Thanks to climate change and the general warming of the planet, our oceans are becoming a much more hospitable place for all sorts of jellyfish. However, there will always be those more mysterious and elusive sub-species. Consider the stygiomedusa gigantea. It is a species of giant jellyfish that is among the rarest in the world. Over the past 110 years, there have only been 115 sightings. According to those who have studied it, stygiomedusa gigantea is one of the largest invertebrate predators in the world. While its sightings have been rare, luckily a few of the recent ones have been by unmanned ROV vehicles, which allow us to get up close with these terrifying, majestic creatures. Well, this is going to give me nightmares for a year. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/stygiomedusa-gigantea/
