If there’s one wish all pet owners share, it’s that our furry friends could live forever. Although that’s obviously impossible, this dog’s humans should consider themselves lucky. They might share their home with the oldest dog on Earth! Tara the rescue dog is 25 years old, and she’s owned by Burt Ward, the actor who played Robin in the 1960s Batman series. Ward is so passionate about animal rescue, in fact, that he and his wife care for 50 rescue pups! If you want to learn more about Tara’s incredible life, check this out. What a happy girl! It’s easy to see that she’s lived her long life to the fullest, and we wish her many more years to come. If you’ll excuse me, I need to go track down some of that food for my dog. We all need time to ourselves. Even the most social person, with a phone full of Facebook updates and texts messages, enjoys stepping away from it all, taking a deep breath, and clearing their head. Maybe you like to read a book or write in a journal, or perhaps quietly meditating is more your speed. No matter what you do during your alone time, it’s important to have a space that is just for you. That’s right, just like Superman had the Fortress of Solitude, we all need a location where we’re free from the stress and distractions of the outside world. This can be as simple as closing your bedroom door, or as extravagant as what Sandy Foster did with an abandoned cabin on her property. On a remote mountain road, nestled deep within the many acres of land she and her husband own, lies Foster’s “She Shed.” She got the idea when she discovered an old, abandoned cabin in the woods near her house. Inspired by the recent trend of “Man Caves,” Sandy set out to transform the structure into a place where she could relax on her own. Other women, as well as psychologists, have spoken out in support of She Sheds. Barbara Teckles, a fellow She Shed owner from Wisconsin, says that “If women can find a spot of their own to collect themselves again and have some peace and quiet, everybody’s gonna benefit from that.” If a She Shed sounds like something you want in your life, check out this list of some of our favorite She Sheds for inspiration. You might think that cows are dumb and don’t have any interests other than eating, but you’d be wrong. Mindful creatures, aware of many things around them, they can be just as curious about the world as you or I. Which is why this farmer’s cow, named Herbie, is so adorable. Given anything new on the farm, Herbie will often inspect it for hours. One time he played with a new shovel to see what it was and if it could be used as a toy. That’s when the farmer decided to give Herbie a real toy to see what would happen… Want to see more? (Of course you do.) Check out extra footage of Herbie with his ball here and here! Mayor Michael Bloomberg rang the bell to re-open the New York Stock Exchange Wednesday after a two-day trading hiatus. Both the NYSE and the NASDAQ were closed Monday and Tuesday as Hurricane Sandy whipped through the Northeast, the first time weather has forced the stock market to close for two consecutive days since 1888. It’s already shaping up to be an eventful day for tech stocks. Apple’s stock plunged back below $600 a share in early trading Wednesday following a shakeup in the company’s executive leadership announced earlier in the week and Facebook is down nearly 4% as the first of three big lockup periods expires, allowing employees to cash out their stock. One thing spiders are known for, aside from their creepiness, is their sneakiness. Their ability to silently move around and scare the crap out of you by appearing out of nowhere is sort of their trademark. However, when you turn the tables and start creeping up on spiders…well, let’s just say they don’t like that very much. It’s a terrifying fact that one young Australian learned in literally the worst way possible… That’s just too much nope to handle. Sadly, we don’t know exactly what happened after the spider charged him, but I think we can make an educated guess… Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/creeping-spider/

It was just a routine kayak fishing adventure for Isaac Brumaghim, until the craziest thing happened to the Hawaiian local. This was going to be a fishing trip he’d never forget. After reeling in a catch, he was surprised by a visitor… one with a fin and lots of sharp teeth. A shark jumped right out of the water behind him and snatched his catch right off the hook. Understandably, he was quite shaken after the incident and couldn’t do much more than laugh nervously as the adrenalin rushed through his system. (Source: Isaac Brumaghim) At the end there he had the same fear wiggle I get coming up the last few steps from a dark basement. I understand your pain Isaac. Earlier this month, surveillance video of a bumbling, oddly dressed burglar attempting to break in to a grocery store became a viral sensation, notching more than 6 million views on YouTube and shout outs on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Good Morning America. Now, the store that repelled the quixotic attempt is capitalizing on the situation. Kent’s Meats and Groceries is in its own words “hoping to turn lemons into lemonade” with this ad, which used the original footage and added “Yakety Sax” from The Benny Hill Show. (Watch the original viral video below.) What do you think? Does this leave a bad taste in your mouth or make you hungry for more? Let us know in the comments.
