These 10 puppies were rescued right before Thanksgiving…and got treated to a warm bath, a lot of love, and their very own Thanksgiving feast! Now, all they need is a forever home they can truly be thankful for. This pack of pups was taken in by 2nd Chances Rescue and wonderful foster moms Andrea, Amy, and Kristi. It’s not uncommon for a police station to have K9 teams where professionally trained pups serve on the force…but what if the ‘K’ stood for kangaroo? Well, that’s exactly the case at the Cue Police Station in Western Australia. When a car struck a mother kangaroo, killing her, she was carrying her baby boy in her pouch. Luckily, he survived. Since then, the little joey has found a temporary home with Constable Scott Mason. Just watch how strong their bond is after just a few days together… According to reports, Cuejo will stay with Mason until he’s able to be safely reared and softly released back into the wild. Just one question remains…where can we get our own baby kangaroo that wants to follow us around? Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/rescued-kangaroo/
If there’s one wish all pet owners share, it’s that our furry friends could live forever. Although that’s obviously impossible, this dog’s humans should consider themselves lucky. They might share their home with the oldest dog on Earth! Tara the rescue dog is 25 years old, and she’s owned by Burt Ward, the actor who played Robin in the 1960s Batman series. Ward is so passionate about animal rescue, in fact, that he and his wife care for 50 rescue pups! If you want to learn more about Tara’s incredible life, check this out. What a happy girl! It’s easy to see that she’s lived her long life to the fullest, and we wish her many more years to come. If you’ll excuse me, I need to go track down some of that food for my dog. You might think that cows are dumb and don’t have any interests other than eating, but you’d be wrong. Mindful creatures, aware of many things around them, they can be just as curious about the world as you or I. Which is why this farmer’s cow, named Herbie, is so adorable. Given anything new on the farm, Herbie will often inspect it for hours. One time he played with a new shovel to see what it was and if it could be used as a toy. At the Humane Society of Missouri, a unique and incredible experiment is underway. Called the Shelter Buddies Reading Program, the project’s goal is to help antisocial and hyperactive dogs develop the social skills they need to get adopted. By enlisting the help of young children who love reading, the Humane Society hopes that these sessions will help animals come out of their shells. When you see how the pups respond, you’ll realize that this program is a home run. The method shown here helps dogs learn to come to the front of their cages when potential adopters walk by. If they meet people and interact, they’re far more likely to find forever homes. It’s ingenuity like this that has the potential to help thousands of animals in need. Usually when you see a smartphone involved in a life or death situation, it’s the cause of the problem — but this time it was the solution. At a dance shop in Spokane, WA, clerk Leslie Reckord was told an infant was unable to breath and had started turning blue. A former lifeguard, she immediately called 911 and began attempting CPR. Two blocks away, volunteer EMT Jeff Olson was working on cars in his day job as a mechanic when his phone sent him a notification about the emergency taking place nearby. So he dropped everything, ran over, and saved the little boy’s life. Olson still seemed rattled while talking about his heroism to the local news afterward. Take a look. (via Business Insider.) I guess smartphones are more useful than just beating your high score on Candy Crush after all. Read more: http://viralnova.com/baby-saved-app/
I’m no expert on boats or helicopters, but I imagine it’s difficult to operate them even under the best conditions. After all, if it were easy we would all be able to do it! Recently, though, the Royal Danish Air Force had a chance to show off just how skilled they are during a harrowing landing that could have gone very wrong. During a storm in the Atlantic Ocean, the pilot of a Seahawk MH-60R helicopter made the landing of a lifetime on a boat as both the ship and the helicopter were tossed around by wind and waves. This landing must have had the pilot and the boat captain on edge the whole time. Read More: Watching This Plane Trying To Land With Extreme Crosswinds Will Give You Anxiety Wow! They make it look easy, but I’m wishing them only clear skies from here on out. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/helicopter-landing-storm/
Mountain lions understandably get a bad rap for eating people and being pretty menacing members of the animal kingdom, but when it comes down to it, they’re just big cats…and cats like to play! Case in point: this mountain lion who wanders onto Desert Mountain’s Chiricahua golf course in Scottsdale, Arizona, and becomes completely enamored by the flag at the 18th hole. He could probably eat your cat in one bite, but for a second, it’s hard not to think he could BE your cat! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/lion-golf/
