Even cats get frisky when they’ve consumed too much cat nip and gin. When Redditor Leicor‘s girlfriend tasked him with the responsibility of petsitting her cat, he decided to have a little fun. Instead of sitting back with a toy mouse and enjoying the monotonous duty of staring at a cat, he created a video depicting the scandalous escapades of the orange kitty. Not only is the video solid entertainment, it’s also a great way to ensure that your significant other will never ask you to catsit or leave town ever again. Trying to catch a bird of prey is hard enough as it is, let alone when they are all panicked due to being stuck in a very large warehouse. Simon and Sean from the Wildlife Aid Foundation spent a couple of hours chasing a Sparrowhawk around a warehouse. Having dealt with similar situations before, Simon knew what he had to do. He attempted to corner the frightened bird so that Sean, who was waiting in a very precarious position, could capture it. Eventually the pair managed to capture the small bird of prey and set it free, but it was no easy task. (Source: Wildlife Aid) Forget about “needle in a haystack”, the new term should be “Sparrowhawk in a warehouse.” Read more: http://viralnova.com/sparrowhawk-rescue/
Hope For Paws received a call about a homeless pit bull in need of help. The dog was abandoned by his family after their home burned down. Weeks went by and they never came back for the poor pit bull, who never strayed far from the scorched house, waiting and hoping they would soon return. Thankfully for the abandoned dog, Eldad Hagar of Hope For Paws was there to help. After feeding the friendly but starving dog a hamburger, Eldad put a leash around his new friend and brought him back to the shelter. The dog, now named Popeye, patiently awaits for a new family to love him. (Source: Eldad Hagar) This beautiful dog has such a sweet temperament and personality. How someone coldly leave a dog like that on the streets? It breaks my heart. Read more: http://viralnova.com/pit-bull-house-fire-rescue/
Very few people have the time or resources to save animals in need. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t do something for them. Heroic animal rescue organizations like Hope For Paws exist to help animals in need when others can’t. A woman named Sandy Mays discovered a dog in a condition that’ll make you feel ill. The pit bull was intensely shy of strangers, she had a severe eye injury and tumors in her face. Savannah, as she was later named, was in desperate need of a rescue. Sandy wasn’t able to help her, but she had to do something. So, Sandy called her friend Lauren. Lauren called Lisa. Then, Lisa helped enlist Eldad from Hope For Paws in a heartwarming rescue. Savannah was in pain. Hope For Paws Not only that, but she was terrified of humans. Hope For Paws Luckily, Eldad was able to get close enough to touch her. Hope For Paws You need to see this touching rescue, and how it all ended, for yourself. By the end of this video, you may be in tears. Savannah transformed from disfigured and frightened dog into something beautiful. Watch her rescue: Savannah was lucky that so many people worked together to find a way to help her. Hope For Paws Help Savannah find a home by sharing this story with everyone you know. Hope For Paws Source: Hope For Paws This poor girl was only able to receive the surgery she needed thanks to the donations that people have generously given to Hope For Paws. If you’d like to help Savannah find a home, please share her story. Or, if you’d like to help other dogs in need, support a local shelter or rescue like Hope For Paws (click here to visit their Donations page). Let this video be an inspiration for you. “Our hope is that people will watch Savannah’s video and see that they too have the ability to help those without a voice. Whether they foster, volunteer, donate, rescue, advocate, share or adopt… each of us has a way to effect pet overpopulation. And by supporting Hope For Paws in any of these ways, they are giving hope for paws.” – Annie, Hope For Paws There are so many dogs in the world like Savannah, mistreated and alone. You might think that cows are dumb and don’t have any interests other than eating, but you’d be wrong. Mindful creatures, aware of many things around them, they can be just as curious about the world as you or I. Which is why this farmer’s cow, named Herbie, is so adorable. Given anything new on the farm, Herbie will often inspect it for hours. One time he played with a new shovel to see what it was and if it could be used as a toy. That’s when the farmer decided to give Herbie a real toy to see what would happen… Want to see more? (Of course you do.) Check out extra footage of Herbie with his ball here and here! It was just a routine kayak fishing adventure for Isaac Brumaghim, until the craziest thing happened to the Hawaiian local. This was going to be a fishing trip he’d never forget. After reeling in a catch, he was surprised by a visitor… one with a fin and lots of sharp teeth. A shark jumped right out of the water behind him and snatched his catch right off the hook. Understandably, he was quite shaken after the incident and couldn’t do much more than laugh nervously as the adrenalin rushed through his system. (Source: Isaac Brumaghim) At the end there he had the same fear wiggle I get coming up the last few steps from a dark basement. I understand your pain Isaac. When a stray cat got his head stuck between the bars of an iron fence, the Los Angeles Animal Services Specialized Mobile Animal Rescue Team, otherwise known as SMART, was called out to rescue the feline in distress. The stray, nicknamed Midnight by neighbors, was known to regularly go in and out of the bottom of the fence. But one day, after being cruelly shot twice with a BB gun, the poor kitty got scared and ran through the wrong hole. After trying to gently push his head back through the bars, the rescue team enlisted the help of a vet technician who sedated Midnight as the team successfully freed him from the gate. After his dramatic rescue, Midnight was taken to an animal shelter to be cared for, and I’m very happy to report that the little guy was adopted soon after by a loving family. Retired veteran Chad Flemming served two tours of duty in Iraq where, like many military vets, he unfortunately suffered both physical and emotional wounds. Anxiety and PTSD followed him home along with his injured leg. The stress can sometimes feel overwhelming for individuals in his circumstance, but recently he was happy to find someone who really understood his pain. His new best friend helps him feel more comfortable and at ease, and Flemming returns the favor. Mikko, a shy pit bull mix, took some time to warm up to his new human friend. YouTube / WCCO – CBS Minnesota The poor thing was rescued one day before he was scheduled to be euthanized and it was clear he’d previously lived a sad, neglected life. This family was walking home when, suddenly, they stumbled across a lump in the snow. Unsure what it was, they began digging and digging until finally they happened upon a cat that was buried beneath. The cat was frozen and they had assumed all hope was lost, but they attempted to rescue it anyway. Miraculously, due to their efforts, the kitten survived! The kitten was found and was described as “lifeless, but not stiff.” YouTube They used CPR after warming the kitten up to revive it from its frozen state. YouTube Here is a video of the whole rescue (prepare for warm fuzzies): (via Bored Panda) This little miracle was promptly named Lazarus and adopted by the family who brought him back to life. Maybe this kitten will hold the key to the cryogenic freezing technology that has appeared in sci-fi movies for the past few decades! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/frozen-cat/
There’s a tiny island in Japan that is so full of cuteness, if I saw it in person I wouldn’t be able to handle it. It’s known as Rabbit Island, and that is because it’s literally full of nothing but rabbits. (Surprise!) Rabbit Island, a.k.a., Okunoshima, was used as the secret base for the Japanese Imperial Army’s lethal gas operation during World War Two. You wouldn’t even guess it now, though, because the only reason people know this island is for the bunnies. Lots and lots of bunnies. Over 6,000 tons of poison gas were manufactured on this island during the war, but that dark history has been erased by the bunnies. YouTube At some point, rabbits were introduced to this remote island and they took over. Now, there are HUNDREDS of adorable bunnies living there. YouTube To the delight of tourists, you can visit the island and interact with all of the furry residents. YouTube And judging by the video below, the rabbits really like it when tourists visit to feed and pet them. After all, who doesn’t like to be fed treats and cuddled? Experiencing an adorable rabbit stampede is something I need to do before I die. Source: YouTube Why go to a tropical island paradise when you could go to one of the cutest islands on earth, filled with lovable new friends? Share this, maybe you’ll find someone to take the trip with you. Read more: http://viralnova.com/rabbit-island-japan/
